Last Night's Bon Jovi Concert Was the Bomb!

Bon JoviFans at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Fl. were evacuated from last night's Bon Jovi concert because of a bomb threat. Don't worry -- Tico Torres and company are just fine.

Several bomb-sniffing dogs were sent in after police received a phone call threatening to blow up the arena with two bombs. After determining the
threat was a hoax, fans were let back in at 9:30 for the show.

The state of New Jersey can rest easy.

16. i've seen dave live before, i've aso seen bon jovi who are wayyyyy out of dave's league. i mean seriously, DMB are great...but they put out 3 live cds for one studio....and they just tour constanlty....the only reason they're still around is because they're big with ubiversity students and their fan base just renews itself as students graduate and others come in. I couldnt possibly see Dave still touring in 25 years, at least nothing other than the bar circuit!
once again, i love dave and couldnt say anything wrong about that band, but comparing them to Bon Jovi, career wise or in concert, is just wrong,

17. best concert ever!!!!!!

18. #17, you got one thing right. Dave and Bon Jovi are in two different leagues alright!! One's called one of the most talented musicians of all time and the other is a the lead singer of a big haired pop band. Two leagues is right! Thanks for clarifying. Its like saying Brittany Spears is talented. But then again, if you like "pop" artists like Bon Jovi you probably do like B.Spears. FYI DMB tours to give the fans what they want - and what they want is to hear the greatest live band of the last 20 years.

Posted at 8:58PM on Apr 27th 2008 by #17 is Nuts or has really big hair

19. Why are you guy comparing Dave and Bon Jovi?? But, why not! Dave has that "it" factor and to me atleast Bon Jovi is really tacky. Musically, I agree Dave and his band are far better, lyrics and meaning behind his songs are deep as compared to Bon Jovi who seems fairly light and fluffy. Bon Jovi is definitely a great band tho. Im 39 so I guess I can speak to Dave's music? I didn't get the age comment earlier.

20. #19....you're missing my point completly.... first of all get you facts staight....DMB havent been touring for 20 years. 2nd, like i said DMB are great and are one of my favorite bands. what i was saying, is performance wise, bon jovi are way better, dave are great live, but there simply isnt as much energy. I also agree when you said that DMB have excellent lyrics and some songs of theirs are really meaningfull, but not all. then again, not all bon jovi is commercial bubble gum rock. Some of their less known stuff is excellent.
your britney spears comparison makes absolutly no sense, same goes for your hair comment. the second i saw you where ready to generalize to that point, i realized you couldnt be taken seriously.

21. JBJ is one of the most talented, entertaining shows I have ever seen (and I've been to over 1,000 concerts). I have worked backstage and JBJ was polite, nice and HOT! hehe Sorry, couldnt resist. Seriously, they are so talented and give 150% to every show they perform. And they give back to the less fortunate of the world. Jon: if you read this: your "Hallelujah" gave me chills... WOW! Love ya!!!!

22. Regarding the B.Spears thing: I was just trying to draw a comparison, many people who listen to certain types of music, and quite frankly are not the sharpest tools in the shed - may think she is talented musically. Mr. Bon Jovi does have big hair!
Seriously tho, I am sure JBJ actually has a few deep songs - just not too many. DMB has been touring since 1991, so that would lead me to believe, I could safely make the comment that they are the best live band over the last twenty years (90's and 00's)

23. Bon Jovi more energy than DMB??????????????????????????????????????????
Can't be!

24. hey, yes it can be, DMB live are energetic on few songs here and there but thats not the case of the majority of their songs. In general, the energy is higher at a bon jovi concert, thats a fact, not only does the singer move and jump around more, but their type of music is more suitable for the stadiums and big crowds. Dave has more of a relaxed vibe (most of the time).

25. Hey, I move and jump around - does that make me a great entertainer? ha ha...
I vote DMB!

27. I went to see Neil Young once in Chicago and Dave Matthews happened to open up for him...I'm sorry but I thought I was going to fall asleep during those long instrumental solos that were going on----all this fiddling, and acoustic guitar stuff, and the people in the crowd were all dancing---but not real dancing, but that grateful dead non dancing kind of movements---it was weird and freaky and not uplifting, soulful, or even fun. It was as if he was playing to people who had drunk too much wine and just either were passing out or doing that grateful dead non dance movement.

I'm sorry but it was boring with a capital B...than I saw him solo at Farm Aid 2 years ago, and that was even worse...surest cure for insomnia I have ever experienced. I'm not trying to be negative, just honest, that he just doesnt touch everyone the same way...some apparently love him, others, he puts to sleep. I happen to be one of the sleepy ones. Neil Young and Crazy Horse rocked the place like no tommorrow...the weird thing though, many Matthews fans got up and left after seeing him...at least the ones who hadnt passed out from too much wine and pot.

Oh well...it didnt help his image that trip either when his bus driver dumped the buses lavatory remains in the chicago river hitting a bunch of boaters underneath the bridge...a very bad PR move.

someone hit the snooze alarm

28. hey 26 he was talking about energy...jumping around = energy, and in bon jovi's case they are great entertainers
and Bon Jovi are amongst the best entertainners ever. that would explain why their concerts have been sold out p;retty much everywhere in the world theyve been. it certainly isnt cause of their music, i have many friends who cant listen to a bon jovi song but always want to go see them live based on their performance.

# 28, i'm sorry Dave was boring for you, i guess its not the type of music you'll be into if you dont already know. when i saw them, i'd say people were half asleep for about 1

Posted at 8:58AM on Apr 28th 2008 by reply to 26

29. sorry accidentally hit enter....so yeah, most people were half asleep until towards the end once they played two step and ants marching. that show is a good example of people not knowing the songs and being bored, the band played about 8 songs on an album that wasnt released yet so people were like WTF?
but with bon jovi, you dont really need to know the songs, its more of a let lose stop thinking and have fun kind of concert

30. I've been a Bon Jovi fan since day one and always will be. I've seen them several times and will be going again for their final show in July. Every show I have been to the band gives 150%, they are full of energy and have never dissappointed me. Wheather or not some one in the band has problems, it's a part of life and that's no reason why Richie shouldn't be in the band.
