226. Was it bad judgement on part of miley's parents and the photographer? Yeah, of course it was. But come on, even if she was clothed, that picture could have been made to look very provacative. Everyone waits for celebrites to mess up or to find fault in them and a lot of times, that's what makes them famous. That young girl was NOT i guarantee trying to catch the attention of grown adults, (who by the way seem to be the only ones to notice something like this). But she and most everyone who watches a television sees that this is something that is done to become more desirable. It is not uncommon and that little girl thought she was being beautiful. Shame on everyone, not her. Judge our culture, not her. People get so hateful, self righteous and jealous, like I said, eventually Miley, they will try to make you look bad in one way or another. It's all part of being famous.

228. are you kidding me??? okay, even if she was "tricked" into taking the pictures, THEY STILL MADE IT INTO THE MAGAZINE!! do you really think that miley's "handlers" and "management team" didn't see them before they were printed in millions of copies of mags??!puhleez!! sure, vanity fair wants to sell copies, but they are not gonna put a picture of miley practically naked in their pages without somebody's permission.....my question is, whose decision was it??? 229. Miley Cyrus is a little brat. She knows what she did, her parents knew and for G-d's sake, she is just blaming others for her choices. There is a responsibilty that comes with this business, and no way in hell is Annie Leibowitz to blame. Annie has taken photographs of so many famous people, Miley should be kissing Annie's butt to even have the priviledge of her picture being taken by Annie Leibowitz. Annie has been doing this for the longest time, she is one of the best photographers in the world and she is being unfairly blamed because the public thinks Miley was being too provacative, so she hurries up and blames Annie. Bad move Cyrus family. BAD move. No one is going to want to do business with a little liar, she obviously is playing the I'm the Victim card. That picture was not even that great of her, she is not all that. It angers me how she and her family are using Annie Leibowitz as their scapegoat. She already pissed Madonna off with her dumb "spoof" of her 4 minutes video, what a moron. She was spoofing Madonna, who the hell does she think she is? She burning bridges and very poweful ones. She better grow up fast. Annie is no papparazzi, she is a genius. Miley wanted the publicity, but she did not expect the disownment of her fans, so the cyrus family are lying to proctect their azz. It's so clear to me what is going on. Annie knows it was tasteful and is not interested in making iley Cyrus a sex symbol. Little liar brat!!!

Thank You Annie Leibovitz for holding up the mirror to our warped society...we take a perky happy teenager and turn her into an ashen faced sleepless looking medusa with spine and ribs you can count, sultry sex object eyes and wrap her up in a satin shhet that screams adult sexuality. The photograph is a succdesful piece of art that to be taken in, absorbed and interpreted as much as an old master painting.

234. Oh come on, like Annie Leibovitz who has photographed kings and queens, presidents, and other highly influential people, is going to put her career on the line for frikken Hannah Montana? Give me a break! Billy Ray, his wife and Miley have a plan, and part of that plan included Miley posing for Vanity Fair. Did we really think she would be wearing a baggy sweatshirt??? Billy Ray has no problem with his 15 year old girl posing partially nude. Nice guy--a real good 'ol daddy! She's only 15--what will happen when she's 17??? Disney should just drop this nightmare to be and save themselves the trouble. All we need is another Lohan...

235. Everyone keeps saying that she was "topless". She was not topless and she wasn't even close to being nude. If you go to vanity fairs website you will see the full photo in which shoes she is wearing jeans and the peice of fabric on top. I have been photographed before and in most cases the model is wearing a tube top. I don't think the pictures are a big deal personally. It is the imagination of the sexually frustrated that pervert the entire scene.

Miley Is NOTHING and i mean NOTHING but a stupid child, she should be stripped not of her clothing, but of her job(career) with Disney/Children in general, if they wanted to do this so bad and if what i have heard else where is true, that this had been considered for a long time, then Y the **** not wait another 2~ years when she is at least 18 !!!!! is that too much to ask, it's bad enuf she's 15 but, being a 'role model' for KIDS!!!! CHILDREN!!! Little YOUNG boys and girls, just is above and beyond ridiculous what else has/will she do and go 'oops' after, This is insane, IF she had been 18 I COULD understand and possibly accept it, but with her audience sh*t you know it's totally inappropriate.

Why do something like this VF crap, at the supposed "Peak" of her career, if this was really her peak then why bring her down so fast?
While the Disney folks may be Ok with it and her supposed apology, i say B.S. career over go join the Unemployment line...... Or when you grow up do whatever, just not with children... I.E. humans under the age of 18 !!!!!!!!!!!!

They know exactly how to ease people into getting into compromising positions, especially towards the end of the shoot (when her parents were gone). Miley is only 15. She knows Liebovitz is a legend and clearly was heavely persuaded to do the shot. It is only a naked back (less skin than what's shown in a backless summer dress) but it the way Leibovitz positioned her in sexual way, that is offensive to viewers. Miley made a mistake...by trusting a money hungry magazine and a trained photographer to take artisitc photos that turned out to be REAL money makers for them. Bravo for them!!

Miley wasn't alone with Annie Liebowitz when that photo was taken. Her grandmother and a teacher were present, and they didn't protest.

I can't believe that the grandmother wouldn't have told Mom and Dad what went on in their absence, or that Mom and Dad wouldn't have even been interested in finding out about that, which would have been even worse.

I contend that Billy Ray and Tish found out exactly what took place after they left, and that they didn't mind at all.

Also keep in mind that Billy Ray and Tish knew exactly what kind of photographer AL is and what kind of magazine Vanity Fair is, and they were enthusiastic about the entire project and completely approved of it, both before and after the photo shoot took place.

Only when Disney started complaining did Billy Ray start backtracking and claiming that he had no idea that the backless photo existed. He knew he had to take that position, because Disney is bankrolling Miley and there is a LOT of money at stake here.

Annie Liebowitz and Vanity Fair are known quantities who did what they always do. It's Billy Ray and Tish who are responsible for allowing their 15-year-old daughter to participate in this to begin with, and for enthusiastically joining in.

This was incredibly bad parental judgment at best, and deliberate pimping of their underage daughter at worst.
