Miley -- Miles from Reality on VF Shoot

Miley Cyrus might be boo-hooing about this Vanity Fair shoot, but we're told that her parents were with her "the entire time" and that they knew everything that was going on. So any suggestion that Annie Leibovitz tricked Miley into taking racy shots are absurd: "There was no subterfuge," we're told.

Well-placed sources at Vanity Fair say that the mag is "happy for all the press -- we're selling magazines, after all," and when it comes to Miley's suggestion that the legendary Leibovitz got her to take a topless shot, "Are you going to believe Annie Leibovitz or Miley Cyrus?"

For her part, Leibovitz said in a statement, "I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted."

32. FACT: Annie Liebowitz has been one of the top professionals in her field for a very long time. Miss Miley is a mere drop in the celebrity bucket and despite her popularity, is still wet behind the ears.

This is very unfortunate for Miley's career and the "reputation" she led her fans to believe she cared about.

FACT: GIVE ANY CELEBRITY/IDOL LONG ENOUGH AND THEY WILL ALWAYS DISAPPOINT ...........

33. Does Miley even have consent to have a pic like that taken? Wouldn't her parents have to approve of it? It was definately the parents fault and the photogs fault. Miley should not be able to consent to do something like that.

34. Gee, why all the noise about the parents and the photographer. How about decency standards of a print publication showing photos of a 15-year old. They have no standards, so we know what they are. I won't be buying Vanity Fair anytime soon.

39. I have watched as skilled photographers work. They will coo and schmooze and develop a monologue technique that is best describe as "hypnotic." As the subject goes from shot to shot, the monologue can cause one to drop inhibitions and a skilled photographer can talk someone into doing almost anything. We all admit Annie is VERY skilled. I think she led miley, and her father, down the path of lowered inhibitions, on purpose, and, therefore, essentially lied and tricked her way to getting the desired shots.

It is also possible that Miley and dad are in on the campaign to kick her up a notch in popularity.

40. Good LORD, people! If she and her family are so shocked and upset by this photo shoot then ban the damn magizine, stop the press and STF up! You can not convince me that a sheet draped over an underage girl could ever be ARTISTIC. What is is EFFing wrong with her parents and family? Hell, it's already out there now, looks like to me they are just pimping the Vanity Fair issure now. STOP it's damn distribution for this issure if they are so disgraced by it. Get real people!

41. OK, maybe her parents were there. but come on, can't Annie Liebovitz, as a PROFESSIONAL photogrpaher, come up with a way to shoot a 15 year old girl that doesn't involve sex and nudity? Liebovitz is the pro here, and she is perpetuating this sexualization of young women as much as anyone. Surely she's more creative than that? Doesnt' she have any kids of her own? Woudl she want a photog to photograph her own daughter that way?

43. Annnie has taken some very bold photos before. BUT they have always been adults. She may have suggested some of the racier shots of this kid. The parents were there and could/should have said no and that would have ended it right there.Must have been OK with the parents in my opinion. Plus Annie doesn't need this type of media for her career, Mileys group must think Miley does.

44. What a shame that Annie showed such bad judgment in how she photographed a child, but the Cyrus's claiming "manipulation" is ridiculous. They were fine with everything until they started receiving criticism. So is Disney starting to put decency clauses in their contracts yet?
