Disney Bites the Photog that Feeds It

Ever since Mileygate broke yesterday, Disney's been pissing on Annie Leibovitz and her shoot with Miley for Vanity Fair -- at the same time that Annie's been on the Mouse payroll for a couple years now doing their fancy "Dream Portrait" series.

Leibovitz has enlisted everyone from a (very young) Abigail Breslin to Julie Andrews, David Beckham and Beyonce to pose for her in the big-budget shots, designed after Disney stories. But when it came to their biggest and most bankable star, MiCy, all of a sudden they got collective corporate amnesia?

Disney said Annie "manipulated" the situation with Miley.

31. Disney is just pissed that they have been whoring out Ms. Miley for years and fully intended for this shoot to extend her popularity among the 18 -35 demographic. This photo shoot happened weeks ago and Disney is just pissed that the whore herself (Miley) leaked her own amateur dirty pictures of her on the internet first so Disney is trying to cover their tracks. If the pictures of Miley on myspace had not shown up this story would have been spun in a totally different way and that Annie would never do such a thing as to exploit anyone. As for the pictures themselves her parents, managers, Disney, CPS and who knows how many other people were there and no one complained until now? Miley is far from perfect so place blame on her and not one of the most respected and talented photographers and blame Miley for being a slut and thinking that she can get away with whatever she wants. Bitch needs to realize it was the myspace pictures that SHE took and posted that make her look like a slut not the ones for VF.

32. Hello. The photos were for Vanity Fair, not some teen fan mag. The Cyrus family and Disney handlers knew that going in. Period. That Disney written PR apology to her fans sure takes the cake. Why is she apologizing to people she does not even know? Could it be to save the Miley/Disney Revenue $tream? Naaa. Disney is all about us folks, not Money.

35. Poor Walt Disney...probably turning over in his grave. Remember when Annette Funichello (sp?) was sanctioned by the
Disney powers that be for wearing a two piece bathing suit that showed her belly button? Remember the controversy over how curvy Pocahantas was made to look in the movie?

36. I absolutley hate Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. My 8 year old has mixed feelings. I think blasting Ms. L is a HUGE mistake. She has made people famous just by photographing them. Isn't that what Mr. and Ms. Cyrus were hoping for?? In my opinion...they are pissing off the wrong person.

40. Exploitation.
Big deposits for the Bank of Mom & Dad, Bank of Disney, Bank of Vanity Fair,
Bank of Annie Leibovitz.
Exploitation of a 15-year old.
Don't buy Mom & Dad just left.... Blame it on Grandma!

41. I hear the term as of late 'train wrecks' to describe some of these Hollywood types. It would be nice if that were the case, but it's not. Hilton, Spears(who has recently been rewarded by you knumbskulls out there with a recurring spot on a sitcom, keep up the ratings, morons) Lohan and now this one are filthy rich. The startling part of this one is the pappy is posing with her kid's soft core child porn pics. I betcha sales of this mag will skyrocket. Yea Chris Hanson, this one's for your show for sure.
Those of you posting 'I don't get what all the fuss is about' are about the thickheadest posters I think I've ever come across on the net since I've been surfing.

42. I was in London when all the problems Annie caused with the Queen of England hit the fan....Annie is very strange and overrated, Her "art" in photography has bothered me for well over 20 years...

43. That dude totally looks like Howard Stern. What's so bad about his pictures? I read somewhere that he was the last person to photograph John Lennon before he was shot.

44. I saw the pictures why does Mylie have to show her stomach when laying across her dad? She could have pulled the shirt down. Anyone here Hilary Duff comment on the pics. She was totally dis'en Mylie for them saying she should have thought about it. If Mylie wants to pose like a big girl then she needs to start taking responsibility for her actions. I just saw her Myspace photos and those are just nasty and sluty. Doesn't she know about child predators? Or that its dirty old men who look at them.

45. My thinking on this from a business (Disney) point of view is that the parties involved have just become a liability.
