Disney Bites the Photog that Feeds It

Ever since Mileygate broke yesterday, Disney's been pissing on Annie Leibovitz and her shoot with Miley for Vanity Fair -- at the same time that Annie's been on the Mouse payroll for a couple years now doing their fancy "Dream Portrait" series.

Leibovitz has enlisted everyone from a (very young) Abigail Breslin to Julie Andrews, David Beckham and Beyonce to pose for her in the big-budget shots, designed after Disney stories. But when it came to their biggest and most bankable star, MiCy, all of a sudden they got collective corporate amnesia?

Disney said Annie "manipulated" the situation with Miley.

91. 63. Maybe you haven't heard that her parents left the shoot before Leibovitz enticed and cajoled Miley into doing 'ARTSY SHOTS." Perhaps you, Annie, and VF are unaware that 15 year old Miley cannot legally give "informed consent" for sexually provocative photos and their distribution. You might better be quaking in your left-wing, anti=American boots, because you have opened yourselves up to possible CRIMINAL liability. Take 'em down, Billy Ray, the South is with you and Miley.

Maybe YOU haven't heard that some of Miley's guardians were still present when the photos in question were taken. Her grandmother and a teacher remained on the set. Also you seem to be forgetting (or deliberately overlooking) the fact that Miley's parents got to see the photos long before they were put out to the public by Vanity Fair. And Mommy and Daddy didn't complain at all.

They could have demanded that the photos never see the light of day, and they could have gone to court if that's what they wanted and VF didn't comply. But no, we didn't even hear a peep out of Miley's mom and dad.

... that is, until _Disney_ publicly complained. Until then, Miley and her parents were very happy with the results. But now that Miley's main employer is making a public issue of this, the Cyrus family is falling in line with their benefactors. They know what side their bread is buttered on.

92. she was smiling in the behind the scenes pictures, even throwing the devil horns. Miley is smiley allllll the way to the bank. Annie L is a well respected photographer, as was pointed out in the article, if disney didn't trust her...why have they hired her so often in the past?

Miley needs to go ask forgivness from her "jesus"

im sick of this kid. My nephew adores her, and that is all well and good, I just saw her as a little girl growing up in Hollywood before. now i just look at her and think - LIAR

93. Annie is one of the best photographers around. I don't believe she would do something that wrong or would have Miley photographed in an wrong way. Annie is an class act all the way.

95. Just remember this famous quote by a somewhat less famous personage named Brendon Behan: "There is no such thing as bad publicity except your own obituary".

Disney, Vanity Fair, Liebowitz, and Miley are all making money off of this controversy.

96. DISNEY SUCKS - they need to stop victimizing Annie L.

97. Leave Annie alone, she is a fantastic photographer! Taking photographs of minors in suggestive poses might be walking the line, but hey, it was gonna happen sometime and i think it's better that a professional photographer shot her instead of some dumb-ass paparazzi looking to score a multi-million dollar picture.

98. Manipulated my behind. The Cyrs family has been in the business for yrs - they know better. What did she think when she was asked to remove her top??? duh! She could easily have said NO. If she is this stupid she shouldnt be a role model for young girls! She knew exactly what she was doing and that it would create controversy/attention. What enrages me is her and her family playing the i didnt know nut role- oh brother. At least the general public is smart enough and is not buying it at all.

99. #86 - Miley's PARENTS were on the shoot - did Annie manipulate them too? Wow - she must be one powerful lady. And for your information - most working models are teenagers and the do shoots like one Miley did with her back showing. If you think that is so bad then why aren't you up in arms about that? And what about the photos miley tooK HERSELF for myspace showing her bra and with her shirt pulled up while she lay across a boy. She's not miss innocent and her myspace photos are far worse then anything Annie could begin to dream up. Miley is just backtracking 'cause disney doesn't like the photos.

101. I have seen a fair amount of AL's work and have found most of what I have seen quite nice. That being said I have also seen several interviews in which celebs spoke about their session with AL. AL may have coerced miley to "bare it" but I don't believe for one second that miley felt pressured. And that pic with her dad is just plain disgusting. Miley is seemingly destined to be the next holly'ho. Miley really has no talent anyway and would be nothing without the aide of electronics.

102. It is classic hollywood story of a teen star trying to shed the image of teen, and wants to make an "R" rated movie... Didn't we see this with Lindsay Lohan? Problem is they pulled the strategy about 3 years too soon. At 15 it's creepy, at 18 it's art.

103. Yo Chicken Stripper - # 43, WHAT PROBLEMS WITH THE QUEEN? I saw the interview, and while it's not like being there (although I'm fairly sure you weren't right there in Buckingham Palace while the shoot was going on), there were no problems with the Queen of England other than Ms. Liebovitz recommending she take off her crown for one of the pictures. Don't give this woman a hard time for what's NOT true.

104. The folks at Disney are such nasties. They're doing nothing but trying to protect their most valuable product-- Miley Cyrus. Of course they're going to do anything to protect their profits and sell their underage product.

Her parents and handlers were there. Period.
