In 1963, after two years of service, Wright then transferred to the United States Navy and entered the Corpsman School at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, where he graduated as valedictorian.[10][9] Having excelled in corpsman school, Wright was then trained as a cardiopulmonary technician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland where he graduated as salutatorian.[9] Wright was assigned as part of the medical team charged with care of President Lyndon B. Johnson (see photo of Wright caring for Johnson after his 1966 surgery). Before leaving the position in 1967, the White House awarded Wright three letters of commendation.[11][12][13]

In 1967 Wright enrolled at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1968 and a master’s degree in English in 1969. He also earned a master's degree from the University of Chicago Divinity School.[9] Wright holds a Doctor of Ministry degree (1990) from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, where he studied under Samuel DeWitt Proctor, a mentor to Martin Luther King.[14]

99. I have to agree with TMZ on this one. He must be secretly trying to bring the BLACK Race down instead of uplift us.
If he IS doing GODS work - he wouldn't be tempted by the Media to screw up a good thing. So I'm not sure who he is working for right now - it must be the Clintons.

You are the reason the rest of the world hates America - Obama is the first REAL patriot this countries had in a LONG TIME. Stop believing everything Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly tell you and use what little brains you have. EVERY candidate is supported by wack jobs, it's not about who SUPPORTS the candidates, its about the ISSUES and what the candidates BELIEVE. I'm new to this country and cannot get over how little U.S citizens care about the issues facing America (recession, war in Iraq, loss of civil liberties in the name of "fighting terror" - ps America, terror is a feeling, you cant fight it! - I could go on and on) . All I care about is how these people are going to fix the myriad of problems facing our country, not who their "preacher is" and certainly not who supports them.

Ps From what you've written, you must also despise Ronald Regan (who was a great friend to many terrorists), but let me guess, you're a conservative who only argues points that fit into your conservative agenda!

I read that Obama's mother was an atheist and his stepfather was a muslim, his biological father took off when he was two and was also muslim, but his mother was the constant and most influential parent along with his grandparents, so I don't know why people are so convinced that he would be any more a muslim than an atheist.

I heard one of the commentators say they think Obama is more of politician than he leads many to believe, and that it was no coincidence that twenty years ago he joined one of the largest churches in Chicago with an 8,000+ member congregation, for political gain to become known so that he could run for local and state office and start his political career. This makes more sense to me because Obama seems smarter than the bottom feeder statements Rev. Wright uttered. And even though he attended for twenty years he doesn't strike me as the devout type like Huckabee, who would be in church every Sunday.

Anyway, I'm glad pastor Wright's tirades are being played in the press to show how he was missusing the pulpit and really doing a disservice to his congregation instead of focusing on the redeeming love of Christ, also its interesting that while Pastor Wright complains about America he is also living very well in America and is about to receive a 10,000 square foot home and a multimillion dollar line of credit as a gift from his members, who must be doing well enough to be able to give generously to the church. I think he is a really bad example to his members and perhaps even ungrateful, at some point the complaining should stop when you are clearly prospering and doing well, especially in the face of those in this country and around the world who are not and never will do well financially. Sure the US isn't perfect, but no country is and constantly complaining and stoking the anger is counter productive and self defeating.

105. Reverend Wright is not racist. Every time a black person calls out white america, black people are called angry. He was not angry, he spoke the truth. The problem is you can't handle the truth! The media can't find any dirt on Barack Obama and must now rely on his relationship with the pastor of his church?! Get real people! The problem is white men with real power are taking issue with the fact that a black man may actually be president of this country. That's a problem for them. All the hoopla is rubbish! The media keeps this story relevant only to show white people who support Barack Obama that, "Dude, he's a black guy, are you seriously going to vote for a black guy?! Wake up people.
