Basque -- the Hollywood club which was featured in movies like "Ocean's 11" and "Confidence" -- is on fire in Hollywood.


The bar/restaurant is located on the corner of Hollywood and Vine, right near the iconic Capitol Records building.

Firefighters arrived on scene at around 5:30 AM.

UPDATE: Firefighters are starting to break down some of their gear, though hoses are still dousing the building with water.

The flames appear to have subsided and the smoke has started to clear up in the area.

any time there a fire in a nightclub you can expect that there were bodies or papers being destroyed. hasnt anybody seen the movie goodfellas?

32. I feel really sad about Basque Night Club burning down. My Baby Girl who's living in Hollywood persuing an acting career works there and is now out of a job. Her Daddy and I were visiting her couple months ago and, Peter, the owner treated us wonderful when we were there for dinner. I will pray for him, he's a good guy!

HERE in hollywood...clubs only have a lifespan of 2 years...Your hot one day, and YOU'RE NOT the next..
say hello to Insurance Fraud....the place burned down....the owner gets the money...and rebuilds the club...WITH a different name....different "theme" and its the hottest spot in town... again.....

34. #33 - yeah that would only work if the owner of the nightclub also owned the building. Basque nightclub rented space from the owner of the building, as did the orher 5 businesses who also burned too. So your conspiracy theory doesn't really make much sense now does it.

35. Just curious, does anyone know the exact location of this fire. Isn't in between the Brown Derby and that Academy Pacific school?
