Injured Dancer Pulling Our Leg?

He showed up in a sling to rehearsals, but Cristian de la Fuente seemed to suggest his injury could be fake.

Of course, he also said his face might be a mask and called Cheryl Burke hot ... so he was likely lying.

23. I am around many competitive Dancer's almost every day, and I can tell you from experience that they are the toughest athletes you will EVER meet! I have no doubt that his injury is real, but dancer's are taught early on that there is no "second string", "back-ups", or anyone to take their place if they are hurt. It's no use telling a Dancer that they can't perform, the most you can do is help them so they don't make their injury worse during performing. Short of vomiting on stage or a bone sticking out, I've never seen a dancer back down from performing. The dance studio my children dance at has a chiropractor on staff to help the Dancer's deal with injuries and teach proper technique so they don't get hurt in the first place.

All that being said, I don't watch DWTS, but it's been on the news the last few days. I had no doubt when I first saw the injury that he would be back. It's the way Dancers are.

I will however watch So You Think You Can Dance this year. One of our Dance Studio Teachers was picked for the show (to go to Vegas, beyond that, we do not know yet). He helps teach Dance Therapy for handicapped children (Fox came to the studio to do a segment on it).

24. #20- he is not a dancer he's a 'has been actor' trying to ride the baby coat tails of burke....they make a perfect couple for anything because they are both camera, publicity, recognition seekers. his arm injury is so FAKE, just like both of them are!!! What makes a person awesome is when they are a REAL human being, this guy is a poor excuse for a man and a human being. We feel sorry for his wife, she looks like she's a nice person.

25. #24- EXACTLY!!!!! THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED, AND THE PEOPLE GAVE SYMPATHY VOTES, NOW LOOK WHERE HE'S AT....THIS IS ABC's FAULT FOR ALLOWING ALL THIS BOGUS STUNT TO GO FORWARD! AND NOW THEY ARE ALLOWING LIFTS 2/3 IN TO THE COMPETITION, AND THAT WOULD BE TO HIS BENEFIT...BUT HOW FAIR IS THIS TO THE ONE'S THAT ARE OFF THIS SEASON BECAUSE OF LIFTS? IF IT WASN'T FOR KRISTI AND MARK WE WOULDN'T EVEN CONTINUE WATCHING. NEXT SEASON, UNLESS THEY BRING ANOTHER ASIAN ON, AND JULIANNE BACK-WE ARE NOT GOING TO WATCH.

26. And we are still being fooled.....he can dance with his arms in any position but the right for a dance routine and get high scores, if the others danced with their arms anywhere they want to put them, they get 'docked' points....go figure this junk out. It's a mess, it makes you feel like the whole show is rigged and scripted before it even starts the season. Disgusted in L.A.-
