Britney's a Bad Mother? Nah, Check this S*** Out!
Here's a sweet piece of video from a shrine in Maharashtra, India, where they toss freakin' babies off a 50-foot tower for good luck.
Britney, eat your heart out.

92. I can respect other cultures and their practices to a point. However, I must assume that the baby’s brain is being slammed against the skull in the fashion of shaken baby syndrome when the child hits the landing pad. The fact that it’s cushioned would seem to matter much and I think that's a problem.

93. why the hell is this disgusting? it's part of another country's culture. it's been done for hundreds of years. if anything, it's educational. and if you think not coming back to this site will make a difference, then buh-bye.

94. I can't believe you would show this, and make such cavalier captions. Think of all the things that can go wrong, or the insane fear these babies must experience.
You crossed a line that no gossip rag should ever cross. I'm deleting TMZ from my bookmarks if this video isn't removed soon.

95. Do NOT drag Britney or anyone else into this sick, moronic and deviant "practice." We cannot change the customs and ideas of the entire world, but this is abuse and these people need to be educated.
To name Britney or any other parent in such a posting shows serious need of psychiatric counseling on YOUR part.

96. You people need to realize that to "us" it's cruel, but to them it's a belief and tradition. The mother's hand their babies over to be tossed, no one forces them to do so. (and to the person that asked about "someone or something" catching the babies....) yes there is a deflatable mattress, similar to what fire fighters use to catch jumpers. And there are numerous people surrounding the mattress to catch and get the babies.
I'm not agreeing with what they do by any stretch! My heart jumped out of my chest when I first saw it too. My first thought was a poor baby's going to break it's neck! Luckily, no babies were injured.
But it is another country with their own traditions.
All of the babies were fine and no one was hurt. I do not believe TMZ would have made light of the story if the ending was tragic. So there's no need for any of you to be "anti-TMZ" over them posting this video, it's all over the news too, so I don't see why this site shouldn't. You all know this is an entertainment site. What do you expect, you were afterall, entertained!
:D

101. This makes me sick to watch. I have babies and cannot believe that these fricking idiots think it's ok to drop a little baby 50 feet. And TMZ is even sicker for airing it and calling it sweet. I'm done with this lame website!

102. It's their culture. People think Americans are disgusting because we eat the embryos of chickens (eggs) and rotten milk (cheese)

103. "Me", couldn't agree with you more. I can't understand why people who are so easily offended visit this site, then proceed to discuss how offensive it is. I certainly wouldn't go to a website that offened me, like say www.iloverosieodonell.com.

104. I think "Baby tossin'" should be an olympic event. Can we toss teenagers off 50ft buildings as well???

105. I agree with others who ask that this be removed--why post child abuse???? As a physician, I wonder how anyone knows these babies are "unharmed". I doubt any of these babies had MRI brain or CT brain or spine? The quick deceleration when they hit the sheet could result in "diffuse axonal injury" or brain damage from shearing forces along the brain axons, kind of what happens in a car accident when your brain bumps against the skull. And if a baby lands on his extended neck the wrong way, no reason to think he woundn't have spinal cord injury. Probably some of the babies end up with longterm problems never picked up by these idiots. Keep believing 100% kids are unharmed, and you (TMZ) and its readers are idiots. The fact that it's been done for years doesn't mean it's ok. Nice to know TMZ sanctions child abuse and finds it funny enough to post.
