You Might Want to Rethink
Jon Lovitz Kills -- His Career?

Jon Lovitz might want to think about sticking a foot long Subway sandwich in his mouth after he quoted Obama's frienemy Reverend Wright, then followed it up with an offensive AIDS joke aimed at Blacks -- at an AIDS charity event! Yeah, that's the ticket! Is what he said afterwards a recovery or not? Watch the video, then vote.

47. I was at the event. In fact, I introduced Lovitz. You can't tell from the video but his joke played pretty well with the crowd, as did, "I'm not gay, but I was a drama major in college, so I recognize a lot of you."

It was almost a throwaway, but it if you insist on taking the joke apart, one could argue that he's poking fun at both the absurd notion that the US Gov't invented AIDS to kill black people (in most versions I've heard it was to kill gays, but spin the wheel and pick a minority group that's been affected, I suppose) and at the government's recent ham-handed handling of large scale operations such as the Katrina clean-up.

That said, I agree with 'Just my Input' above. It was a joke people! In a bar! He was appearing free on his own time to promote a good cause. He didn't have to be there. Jeez.

If you're not a Jon Lovitz fan, rent the DVD of 'Happiness' and watch the first five minutes. It's worth the entire movie.

The radio buttons at the top of this posting allow us to choose between 'Lovitz is racist' and 'Lovitz is just not funny'. I'm missing the button for 'TMZ is having a slow news day and trying to spin a non-story into something.'

48. "39. The fat guy on the TMZ show was like "I just didn't think it was funny" Oh schnap! Someone told a joke and it wasn't that good. DaMN!!!! Thanks for breaking the story.

Of course he didn't. He's a very sensitive whiny fat pig, like most people on that awful show.

50. He's a genious and one of the funniest comedians I've ever seen perform. He may shock at times but we live in this country to express ourselves freely and I don't want that to ever change. He's often outrageous and that's what I appreciate about him. He is definitely not a racist and what he said was true. It was obviously supposed to be funny. It's a dark humor that some people don't have a taste for and that's what makes him hilarious. If you constantly look for things, you'll inevitably find them.

51. Hi Harvey!

Well, I warned you to stop going after me, for no reason, what so ever. And, to paraphrase Britney Spears, "Oops! You did it again!"

Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a racist. In fact, the whole point of my stand up act is about how racism is stupid and that there are really no differences between us.

I warned you, once. You will not get another warning.... game on.
