Has Nick Cannon taken recycling to a new level by giving Mariah Carey his ex's old engagement ring? He's gone green -- and crazy!

With reports that Nick and Mariah are engaged, Mimi has been sportin' a rock (left) that looks pretty similar to his ex-fiancee Selita Ebanks' ring (right). It's like that?!

If it is the same ring, expect there to be another emancipation of Mimi!

A rep for Cannon's ex tells TMZ Selita did return the white diamond ring to Nick and wishes the couple well.

48. Mariah's is an emerald cut and the other one is a cushion cut. any jeweler could tell you that.

49. Not the same ring. Anoyther site has photos of the rings from a different view where you can see Mariah's ring has 8 sides for the center settings and has some purple color to it. The other ring has rounded edges. You can see this if you go to idontlikeyouinthatway.com and zoom in on both rings.

56. You guys can hate all you want. Everyone on this blog would die just to even be close enough to Mariah to even give her a ring period. Those rings are completely different. Some of you haters would know if you ever been close to a real diamond before. So what if they look alike. He has a taste that he's used to, and I can dig that.

57. OMG...you people are retards...why in the heck would he need to give her a USED ring? Between the 2 of them they can afford any ring. He would NOT need to give her the same ring. So what if they look similar? I'm no millionaire and even I wouldn't take a recycled ring, no woman would on purpose. And why would you guys think he wouldn't KNOW that he would be found out? It's a different ring, hands down.

58. geez people... even if you barely glance at these two rings you can tell that mariah's ring is totally different... hers is smaller and more rounded, has a pink coloring to it , besides i dont know why people are still even commenting on this ring seeing how the person who made both rings said they are DIFFERENT rings.. geez

60. yes, he is young--but i dont think thats a reason for this big mistake of giving mariah a similar ring(unless she knew what his ex's looked like and wanted her's to have more DIAMONDS WITH A LIL BLING BLING COLOR.
