Happiest Place on Earth? Not Today

Suicide at Disney hotelA man jumped to his death from the 14th floor of the Disneyland Hotel this afternoon.

TMZ spoke to Anaheim Police spokesperson Rick Martinez who tells us the male victim was between 30-40 years old and was in Anaheim on business. He was sharing the hotel room with a male co-worker and jumped from their balcony.

31. I worked at Disneyland many many years ago when I was young. We actually heard that people sometimes came to the park to commit suicide. I agree it's not funny. We used to theorize that depressed people came to the park in hopes of cheering themselves up by recapturing the joy they felt when they were small; only to be overwhelmed with the fact that being at the park, alone and depressed, only exacerbated things. I think this is a strange topic for TMZ, unless the man was famous.

32. TMZ isn't poking fun at the guy......just telling you some sad news. They wanted you to know first before its all over the news.

33. I hope he starts a trend. People leaping into the sweet bye and bye at DisneyWorld & DisneyLand. I can't wait until somebody pulls the plug at DisneyWorld, on live tv would be best.

34. beenthere #34...sometimes the truth hurts , but what Izzie is saying is pretty correct, people jumping in front of subways, disrupting the whole system and terrifying the poor driver, hanging urself in ur mothers shed KNOWING she would find u, that IS SELFISH...I can see if u r a distraught teenager, but she was a grown woman who had her act together so too speak...shooting urself in the head to be found by a loved one. I assume most people give alot of thought if they r in that sad place...so it is selfish to leave ur horror image of being found to a loved one. imo.

35. Poor guy probably found out how expensive everything was! We were supposed to go this week and stay at the hotel, thank God we went a week earlier ($150 gift card, which didn't cover $175 dollar BUFFET for 2 adults and 4 children (with 2 being under 3!)). Happiest place on Earth, my ass. Never saw so many unhappy, wailing kids. My feet need a vacation from this vacation and my wallet is empty ($where do they get off selling a bottle of water for $2.75?)

37. 18. Anthony: the first wing (which houses the check-in) has 11 floors, but there are 2 other buildings. We stayed in the "Wonder" one and it had 14 floors (ok, 13, because people are superstitious). We stayed on the 12th floor.
