If a famous homosexual man took the same level of "soft porn" photo of a 15-yr old boy and it was on the cover of a major mag, there would be outrage, I hope. 47. I always think about my own kid ...being in that situation......and truthfully...if someone told my daughter to take her blouse off....it would have been all over for that person......but 1st ..i would have been there ...so that would not have happened...

2nd.....geeze...i am so tired of watching these celebs walking around with their clothes up to their coochies.....
it's not pretty......and seeing it so much....ya get disgusted ....

49. Not flattering or tasteful at all - very poor judgements by the parents, that's why Dad allowed it, he sees $$$$$. I'm a parent - anyone who truly cares about their kids would never allow a minor to be exploited like this. Who are the readers of Vanity Fair? certainly not Miley's peers. This is a sex driven adult magazine. - For those who see nothing wrong with this, I can just imagine what your character is like - not a role model!

51. PARENTS OR NO PARENTS MILEY COULD HAVE SAID NO, WHICH SHE DIDN'T. THROUGH PICS MILEY HAS POSTED HERSELF OF HERSELF IN QUESTIONABLE POSES SHE HAS MADE IT CLEAR THAT SHE'S "A BIG GIRL NOW". 53. Although I've never met her, I've known photographers like Leibovitz who are only interested in one thing. Creating the Photograph they have envisioned that will turn heads and ultimately make money. They could hardly care a lick about the models other than they have a public identity that they need. Tarnishing a teenagers reputation doesn't even enter their minds. It is all about the photographic art. It is the typical attitude of the elitist liberal democrat. I've worked with too many of them to believe otherwise. And btw, all the women photographers are as attractive as Annie Leibovitz is in that photo. Coincidence? I don't think so. Must be why the photographers never have any real friends, only business associates. I hope Miley learns from this.

54. hopefully alot of people will learn from this......I really can't say that Miley had very much of a say...thats why kids are victims..because they are kids...and thats why their guardians should never let their guard down concerning their most valuable assets "your kids".

There is a big difference in that looking like an evening gown and a red carpet. It's horrible and scary.
Such a shame.

I hope the best for Miley.....this is a terrible thing to happen to a kid........and I hope that she see's now ...that its not art....

55. okay, #15, so what exactly makes this pictures pornographic? i certainly haven't seen any body parts hanging out in any of these photos that would be considered "private", especially if you compare them to the ones that Miley herself had out there all over the internet last week. kind of hard to justify her "embarrassment and humiliation" towards the VF pictures, when there she is in all her glory on her Myspace, lifting her shirt up to show us her green bra.

56. 20. The pictures are not "smutty" but are not in keeping with the marketable target group that generates Mouse moola. How many 6 to 14 year olds understand "art photos"....not many at all....It's the parents and caretakers of these kids who find the photos of Miley not in keeping with the "wholesome" image....but sugggestive of what they don't want their kids to become.

I understand the "artist" and her point of view but to expect "normal, average" people to "feel" the same way she does is asking way too much..especially in Middle Class Middle America....

I completely agree.

Also, I contend that Miley's parents knew ahead of time that Vanity Fair often displays racy photos. Think back on the nude, pregnant Demi Moore photo, for example.

Furthermore, Annie Liebowitz has shot numerous nude and semi-nude photos, often of celebrities. She has been well known for that for decades, and I would find it hard to believe that Miley's mom and dad weren't well aware of this before agreeing to the photo shoot.

Therefore, Miley's parents are clearly the ones to blame here.
