Celebrity Justice
Lindsay to Liquor Industry: You're Full of Schlitz

Lindsay LohanLindsay Lohan is on the attack after the liquor industry splashed a full-page ad in USA TODAY, crapping on Ignition interlock devices which keep drunk drivers off the road.

The ad, published in USA TODAY, claims the devices are good for Lindsay (showing her mug shot), but not for the rest of us.

Lindsay's mega-lawyer, Blair Berk, issued this statement to TMZ:

"USA TODAY is idiotic for running such an irresponsible advertisement, suggesting that drinking and driving is some kind of American 'tradition' we should protect. Not identifying that this ad was paid for by the liquor industry is profoundly reckless.

Drunk, old, white businessmen, drunk cougars out for girls night out, and drunk wedding parties should be kept off the roads of America. Lindsay Lohan fully endorses ignition interlock devices that have been well-proven to save lives."

BTW, we're told Lindsay has already hired lawyers to determine if the ad violates the trademark laws, which prohibit businesses from using someone's pic for commercial gain without their consent.

And the liquor industry hiding behind some bogus company (Interlockfacts.com) because it knows it's wrong. Nice touch.

62. Isn't it Right of Publicity, not trademark law? Perhaps I'm wrong; you have Mr. Levin.

65. I have to laugh at the guys that created this ad, it is quite a burn on LL. She probably is being told by her agent that her antics will be forgotten. HELLO! We still remember, and she is still a scrambled pathetic poser in drag.

70. I agree with Lindsay's lawyer that using her image in this kind of advertisement is illegal and immoral.

But then again, I thought hijacking a car to chase her assistant at high speeds through public streets was illegal and immoral - but I don't recall her receiving any punishment for that.

71. I think the ad is offensive and ignorant, suggesting that it's ok to drink and drive as long as you're not Lindsay Lohan. It doesn't matter if you have just one glass of wine at a wedding or a martini lunch with the boss, It doesn't matter who we are. It's never ok to drink and drive!

72. HAHAHHHAAAHHHAA...that is hilarious and took BALLS! very effective.Maybe the rules about using mug shots are different than other photographic images, because her being a criminal and they have to warn the public, so perfectly legit.
