Tom Keeps Suri in a Cage

Oprah didn't pull any punches with Tom Cruise in their big interview today, asking him exactly what he was thinking when he went all Scientolocrazy on her couch the last time they talked.

But the craziest thing we learned about Tom? He and Katie have built a small playroom cage for Suri under the stairs of their Telluride house where she "has tea parties" -- Scientolospeak for reading LRH by flashlight, we're thinkin'.

Also, Katie's audio module was apparently activated for a very short period of time. Oprah confessed that she was "nervous" when she approached the house. No wonder.

46. PERHAPS.. they put the playroom under the stairs for saftey/security reasons? This way tom and Katie can keep an eye on the little one .. who btw have a habit of getting currious and wnadering off, or sees a pretty butterfly in the yard and before you know it.... "Where's the baby?" ... And with who her parents are and how some dislike her daddy..... keeping the little one close is SMART!

Disclaimer.. No I am not a Scientologist , I am not a Tom Cruise fan (though he has done a few good movies),, But as i said being safe is better...

47. How old was Lisa McPherson? If she was over 18, which she was, she had the right to practice her religious beliefs even if that belief offends you. Did she die because of those beliefs? Yes, but again she had the right to believe as she did. You might want to read the Constitution which allows that right even if her parents don't agree. Christian Scientistist also die for their religious beliefs when they refuse medical attention. Is it sad the manner in which she died? Yes, I find it a sad commentary regarding religion. I also find detestable that I am told that I am headed straight to hell since I do not understand the concept of a Christ "saving" me. Lisa had "faith" in her religion, just as many of you posting have your faith in yours, mostly the Christian cult. The difference is that she died living hers in complete faith, while I wonder if you hold that same faith. So complain away about Cruise's nutso beliefs while clinging desperately to your own.

48. You're jumping the shark TMZ. You seem to create more "rumors" than facts. I started reading and watching you because I thought you were going to give us a more "real" picture of Hollywood, but you seem to be just making fun of people and starting more untrue rumors than news. It's not a cage you dorks. It's an inside play house. What kid wouldn't want one. I didn't see any evidence that would make someone assume Tom & Katie were abusing their child. They are doing what every parent should be doing...creating a safe place for their child to have a little fun that is her size.
I agree with Dallas, You should get some new writers Harvey!!!

49. A cozy playhouse for (short) little kids is a great utilization of a height restricted space like under a staircase. Lucky kid.

50. I think the reason Suri's little "playhouse" under the stairs is so WEIRD, is because Tom and Katie can afford to give Suri an entire "playHOUSE" yet they relegate her to a space the size of "prison cell!!!"

Even MY children have an ENTIRE basement/clubhouse, AND a separate playroom--our enclosed sun porch--which, as you may have guessed has large WINDOWS all around!!! And we're not wealthy, by any stretch of the imagination.

Suri's "space" is so they can micromanage her. I bet she get's "time-outs" in there...for days on end!

RUN Oprah! R....U.....N!!!!!

51. Are you kidding me? Have none of you seriously ever built a little fort in your house growing up? This is just a permanent fort inside the house. Any kid would love it! All this Tom bashing just comes from people who are jealous of their money and fame. They seem like a nice normal family to me.

52. It's an adorable little play area that any child would love. Looks Waldorf-inspired as well.

Grow up TMZ. It's not a cage. It's a playhouse with a charming little Dutch split door.

53. Yes, but did Tom show Oprah the lifts in his shoes? That would have been interesting...

56. Oprah's show will be homogonized spin. I wonder if Katie will be allowed to speak.

Posted at 3:40PM on May 2nd 2008 by Not. Surprised.

57. A playhouse under the stairs? Who cares? Jumping on a couch because you’re so filled with love? Big deal. What sent me over the edge was his complete blast of psychiatry and his performance on YouTube where he claims that only he and other Scientologists have the answers and the rest lowly humans are clueless. I understand his movies are tanking and his popularity ranks up there with George W., but its gunna take a lot more than some PR stint on Oprah to change my mind about him. I’m still having trouble getting over the all-knowing persona. Sorry PR team but ick.

58. Harry Potter lived under the stairs too.
Too bad Tom treats Chris Klein's baby that way.

59. WTF? It's a great little play area and any child would love it. Get a life!!!

I'm not into scientology but people are too "doped" up on prescription medications. There's a long line at my doctor's with people refilling 3 or more different pills. The pharmacuetical companies are laughing all the way to the bank and people are too "drugged out" to realize it.

60. Famous lesbians, like Rosie O'Donnell love the non-threatening, little Tom!
Oprah should have realized that, goin' in! So then, was she co-erced?

To try and foist little Tom on the public, as the all-heterosexual family man is silly, and ridiculous!
