31. I really don't get the viceral hatred of Tom Cruise. So he's a Scientologist, big deal! He's not hurting anyone. He seems to be a decent human being, doesn't drunk drive, use drugs or beat women. He may believe in things that are weird to the mainstream crowd, but it's his right to believe whatever he wants, is it not?

Leave Tom alone. He's a good guy. I wish more in Hollywood could behave well.

"he's not hurting anyone"? Yes, he is actually. IF even one person who is mentally ill watched his interview with Matt Lauer condemning psychiatric medications and decided to stop taking their medications or not seek treatment, then TC is responsible. Although, I agree that psychiatric meds tend to be overly prescribed -- there is a large amount of society that can not function without the benefit of them.

What he said on the "Today" show was not only ignorant but extremely dangerous. Mental illness can lead to suicide and murder, when not cared for properly.

So, NO- you're wrong. He *IS* hurting people by spouting off medical advice when he is NOT a doctor, never went to medical school.. hell, he barely graduated high school.

I am sick of people saying he doesn't hurt anyone! Go research Scientology and re-watch his interviews with Matt Lauer (and his Scientology video) . He is very clear in what he says, although now he says it was "taken out of context". Uhm no it wasn't --- I am not deaf or blind, I saw the interview myself (and the Scientology video).

People are allowed to express their opinions in America. Yes, he is wrong, but so are a lot of people on public air waves expressing their opinions. I personally am more worried about believers if radical Islam than I am about Scientology. When they start murdering innocents, I'll get on the hate Tom band wagon. Until then, they are just a freaky cult relgion without much influence or relevance in my life.

39. As I watched the clips from his movies, I realized how muvh I enjoyed all of those I have seen. I did miss 2 or 3. My all time favorite is RAINMAN, FOLLOWED BYTHE 4TH OF JULY.
There are so many sorry losers in Hollywood I just don't get why people want to hurt this man.
Charlie Sheen worships hookers, Alex Balwin seems to be a bully, Roman Polanski has a reputation as a pedophile. many actors suffer from substance abuse. Yet we seem to be able to appreciate what they create aside from this.
I just can't understand why people want to 'hate' Tom. Is it totally his beliefs? His success? Tell me without prejudice.

42. Ok, folks - while not a TC movie fan, Tom is allowed to follow whatever practices he chooses - spiritual or otherwise. So let's all get over ourselves and wish him and his family the best. Are you all so scared of Scientology that you think that you will somehow become a member? Why the hate?

I can only assume that many if not most/all of you live in some God-forsaken (no pun intended) red state where everyone is a WASP & a NASCAR lover. There is a big world out there folks with people of many beliefs, not just yours.

45. Gee, Tom cannot win with some people...if Mary Had A Little Lamb was playing on that montage, someone would've said something about that!!! Leave Tom alone! He's not the Devil, people who speak negative, have anger in their hearts are the product of the Devil! He seems like a geniunely nice guy...and more than anything, Tom's a human being with feelings too...He doesn't deserve all the crap people heep on him...I think Tom has learned by his mistakes, but it doesn't help that people only want to dwell on his mistakes! And so what of he has a 25 year footage of his films?? He's accomplished more than you negative losers on here who just sit around & wait for someone to slip & you're ready to pounce with your take on th whole thing! Ask yourselves this: what the hell have you done lately & with your life, instead of having Tom's life under a magnifying glass!! I say GO TOM! Make more blockbuster movies because you ARE a great actor!
