Al Sharpton was arrested for civil disobedience this afternoon along with a slew of others in New York.
Sharpton was part of a group of hundreds who were protesting the acquittal of three New York City police detectives who fatally shot Sean Bell 50 times in 2006.
Sharpton most likely will receive a citation and then be released.

47. Sharpton is a retard. Who in the media doesn't laugh at him? He is made fun of on every news show he's ever been on. They interview him and let hin play the race card and joke about it as soon as he's off the air. Show me one time when he was ever taken seriously. Don't drop the soap in jail Rev. Al. 52. Mslady - First of all, it's death row not death road. Secondly, it's a sad day in this country when people vote for someone based solely on him being partially black. Educate yourself and then vote. Don't vote merely because of skin color - that is ignorant. And lastly, those that constantly victimize themselves while pointing their finger at a white person need to take a good, honest look at themselves. They are the true racists.

55. mslady... I'm speechless! First of all, what is "the cause"?! Keeping racism alive?? Because that is exactly what the Sharptons and Jacksons of this country do for a living! (and a mighty FINE living they make!). But they need not work so hard, because people like you do an even better job at keeping racism...or, excuse me, "the cause" alive. 56. Post 911 city and he's worried about shutting the city down again. Why didn't he protest the fact that Renato Scantlebury was killed on the streets of Bushwick by another kid.
