DMX Arrested -- Race Definitely a Factor

Cops say DMX was driving so damn fast on an Arizona highway, it took more than three months to catch up with the guy.

Scottsdale police finally arrested the rapper at his home yesterday after they claim he broke 100 MPH at three separate checkpoints back in January.

According to police, stationary cameras first snapped DMX in triple digits around 8:24 PM . One minute later he was spotted again -- this time doing 114. Three minutes later he was clocked doing 101 ... and he did all that in a yellow 1966 Chevy Nova II.


DMX, real name Earl Simmons, faces charges of racing on a highway, reckless driving, two counts of endangerment, three counts of criminal speed and driving on a suspended license.

28. I thought DMX's house was in north Phoenix, west of Scottsdale. It seems like the dog deaths case is ongoing; I haven't heard it was resolved.

There are a lot of cactus in Arizona, it's true. That's a good thing. It's also true that more and more celebrities are buying homes here. Arizona and California are next door neighbors. But housing prices in the Phoenix Metro and Tucson Metro areas are much less compared to the L.A. area.

I fly Southwest frequently between Tucson and Los Angeles, (it's a 70 minute non-stop flight), and I often see celebrities coming and going. It costs a lot less money to buy a home here. Plus, both Miraval and Canyon Ranch are in Tucson, and there are many, many resorts in the Phoenix area too.
