Jason Castro: Lyrically Challenged

The trainwreck that is Jason Castro finally derailed for good last night when he completely effed up a line of "Mr. Tambourine Man" -- and just mumbled along instead.

And you thought Bob Dylan was tough to understand.

46. Maybe he should have picked a different Dylan song, Like, say, "Desolation Row".

48. I can't believe he went as far as he did. It's all popularity now. All the little girls are voting for him. He can't sing to save his life!!

49. Wish some people would stop insulting his hair and hygiene though. He always looks clean and well groomed to me. The hair is his 'statement', and part of his personality he wants to portray. Dread locks (and most importantly, the scalp) can be washed just fine. Just because he wears them, doesn't mean he is dirty! I actually think he looks really good in them...better then most people who wear them. Hope he keeps wearing them too. Nothing wrong with them, or trying to break free of the status quo mode of everyone should do and wear what EVERYONE else is doing and wearing! Sheesh!

52. You know...in the beginning, A LOT of people didn't like Bob Dylans sound either, and 'technically' Dylan can't sing for squat!, yet most of the world began to love him after he became more well known. They still love him today. Dylan is an icon, and yet Dylan himself, even once admitted in an interview that many of his songs had no meaning at all, and that he couldn't sing...he was often amazed that people would coin him as some huge philisophical guy and that the words to his music had deeper meaning. Well, many of them do, but not all of them. Dylan just like to do his own thing, which was a really acceptable idea back in the 60's. Dylan (often stoned while writing), just wrote songs because he loved poetry and music together. I love Dylan...mostly...for being himself, and not giving a damn about what others think of him! THAT IS WHY HE MADE IT BIG!

55. Okay, here is a question for ALL of you Jason fans that are defending his "I don't give a crap about Idol" attitude: If a person does NOT give a crap about a reality show or sport team or movie, then why in HELL do you participate or watch it???" I could care less about a lot of things in life that bring untold joy to others so guess what?! I don't waste my time watching/participating in it and then I don't whine about it later! Jason's attitude sucks and it would be like me bringing my ipod to the Super Bowl and never ONCE looking at the game, while complaining that I'm bored by the entire experience. Go. Home. NOW!!! if. you. are. so. bored! Create a media frenzy by just announcing that you're "quitting", like contestants did on America's Next Top Model. Show some respect, Jason, and quit taking up space for people who DO want to participate. I no longer admire you.

56. #48, that's too funny!! Good one!

57. I think it would benefit him A LOT more to NOT win American Idol.. most American Idols aren't even successful. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood were about the only successful ones and Kelly Clarkson later admitted she HATED that American Idol pretty much owns her from here on out. Look at Kellie Pickler, Chris Daughtry look at their success.. and then look at past winners and THEIR success.. Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, Clay Aiken, Fantasia Barino, etc.. they were all real good on idol but look where they are now.. nowhere! Jason will go on to be the next Jack Johnson.. he has an amazing voice and he's not a stoner, he just happens to be laid back and relaxed.. is that REALLY so bad? Isn't it horrible of people to judge someone who's laid back and automatically cast them off as a drug addict?

58. #56...I have not read anywhere, where anyone on these boards is 'defending' (as you state) his 'I don't care attitude'. Even many of his fans (myself included), are just trying to understand it, and interpret his non-verbal and verbal communication as of late. Many of us don't feel Jason should stay, especially if he doesn't want to, and is deliberately trying to get booted off the show. With that said though, we still like him, and see a promising (yet more comfortable) future in music for him.

Many of us also still watch the show, because, in a nutshell...we like it! and there are other contestants to view too. Besides, Jason really didn't start screwing up big time, until just recently (just my opinion).

Why do you watch it, and why are you even on this board, if you hate Jason so much!? Ok, you didn't say so, but you have insinuated it, by your written language here.

59. "Okay, here is a question for ALL of you Jason fans that are defending his "I don't give a crap about Idol" attitude: If a person does NOT give a crap about a reality show or sport team or movie, then why in HELL do you participate or watch it???"

I've no doubt he enjoyed it and wanted to be there up until it became blatently apparent that the whole AI thing is being spun in favor of David Archuleta, who could go up there, screech three notes of "Dayo", pop a squat, and throw the resulting poo all over the audience and STILL have Randy Jackson declare him a musical genius. When you hear THAT crap week after week and get ground down by those very same judges week after week when you're doing just fine, it's demoralizing. I don't think David Cook wants to be there, either. In fact, I think the only person who WANTS to be there right now is Syesha. David A. would most likely prefer to curl up in the fetal position under his bed and hide from stage daddy.

60. He acted and has been acting like he is completely stoned all the time. What a waste. Kick him to the curb and let someone who wants to be there stay!
