One Day at a Time

The 48-year-old former child star resurfaced at a Mother's Day event in L.A. on Tuesday, looking rosy.
Mackenzie Phillips
Mackenzie is the daughter of Mamas and the Papas singer John Phillips and the half-sister of Chynna and Bijou Phillips.

In 1980, Mackenzie was fired from "One Day at a Time" and went to rehab. She returned to the series a year later. In 1983, one of the show's producers asked Phillips to take a drug test, but she refused and once again left the series. Mackenzie has been clean and sober since 1992.

33. If anyone needed proof that living in the fast lane ages you, it's in this picture of MacKenzie. Some of these young stars following in MacKenzie's path in the fast lane should be forced to look at this.

34. Her looks are a sad commentary on how years of drug abuse and chain smoking will age a person. However, it's commendable that she's been able to stay clean. Good for her.

36. Considering her past history, she looks pretty good. Not everyone in Hollywood or the movies is drop dead fake gorgous. She never was, perhaps that drove her addictions, Good thing there wasn't a TMZ back then or she would have offed herself.

37. I've seen her in past interviews about her past, she was gutsy & honest.. I've known many none famous people with that same problem who are neither. Most of us have no clue what it takes to get through that, so for those who believe in passing faults judgment upon others, at least take the time to get your facts straight before you do it.. but maybe that take true intellectual ability those who do it lack.

42. What on earth is wrong with the negative losers that post nasty snide comments on this forum? She looks beautiful for 48, I'd hate to see what the knockers on this site look like.

44. Considering her past heavy drug use, I think she looks great! And we never seem to hear a peep about her "falling off the wagon" so to speak. Way to go, Mackenzie ... I'm proud of you. Keep staying strong and drug-free.
