Star Jones and Barbara Walters are staging their own version of "The Hills" -- just 50 years later!

Star Jones unleashed a verbal ass-whooping on Barbara Walters today, telling Us Weekly, "It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book ... It speaks to her true character."

Star is referring to the revelation Walters made that she had an affair with then-married Senator Edward Brooke during the 1970s -- and the fact that Walters claims in her new book Jones forced her to lie on "The View" about Jones' gastric bypass surgery.

For her part, Walters' rep refused to comment back, saying, "I will not dignify this with a comment. Barbara's written words say it all!"

91. I had gastric bypass and I can't believe it's such an issue with her. I am proud to say I did it, and would do it all over again.
I think Star should be proud that she looks better now than she ever did before.

98. Star Jones has no right to comment on what Barbara Walters did. Star Jones got married to a gay man. Put her entire life and wedding on tv for FREE merchandise. She lied to EVERYONE about her weight loss. Like anyone with a brain would believe she lost the weight due to pilates!!!!!!!!!

100. BW has clawed her way to the top, not caring who she stepped on.. If her accomplishments out way her sleaze, why write about the affair...She hurt his first wife, and now is doing it to his current wife....Why didn't we hear about this when it happened, and his wife had a spy on her trail?.. All to protect BW... I hope Star tells it like it really was...BW could not let Star have the upper hand in her dismissal, so she trashes her in her book. Adultery is not to be taken lightly, as she apparently has....It goes to show how she is lacking in the caring, compassionate aspect of her life.. I never liked her, and even less now...It's time the 80+ year old retire for good before she damages more people....

101. Sorry, but this happened more than 30 years ago! I'm sure there are thing that everyone did in their younger days that they regret. Besides it was the Senator who was married not Barbara. Seems to me that he should be the one ashamed. As for Star Jones she will do anything to take the lime light off of herself. She is the one that lied!!! Look to me like Barbara is telling the truth. Star could of help allot of overweight women but chose to hide it. Shame, Shame!!!

105. i dislike them both very, very much, but i think barbara walters is lower than the piss on the floor of a truckstop toilet. barbara walters is a preening, condescending, vainglorious, prissy idiot. she appeals to the lowest common qualities in the ladies-who-lunch crowd and their inane followers. she's one half-step between joan rivers and paris hilton. i can't wait until she's retired and i never see her/hear of her again. xo!
