"Iron Man" Becomes Karate Kid

Former drug addict-turned-"Iron Man" Robert Downey Jr. is riding a new high these days -- and has the kicks to prove it.

The 43-year-old box office superhero (left) channeled his inner Ralph Macchio while practicing martial arts with an instructor in his L.A. driveway on Wednesday.

Is Mr. Miyagi in the Avenger Initiative, too?!

4. Robert Downey Jr is so damn awesome... both as an actor and a person!

Sure he was on some heavy drugs but you gotta give him serious credits for getting out of that stuff.

6. His form is horrible. Why is he wearing a black uniform, he's not a black belt?

What a poser.

7. What's the deal with the 7 year old plus Altima? Either Bob Downey needs to buy a better car or pay his trainer more money. Either way an Altima on his drive makes him look cheap.

10. I have just one question. Why the driveway? There wasn't a better place to practice?

11. Please don't refer to Robert Downey Jr. as a "Former drug addict" and he didn't just turn into Iron Man
he has many fine performances equal to the sum of Iron Man leading on to an even greater future.
He has and is one of our finest actors of modern times; TRULY talented people
have intensity, angst and mistakes but CLEARLY Mr. Robert Downey Jr. has
overcome his past and has achieved personal balance in his life.

I wish him the VERY best .
