I too have worked with addicts for the last ten years in a rehab hospital in New England. I picked up on the injection site right away, as well. I would say it's rewarding work, as people leave with so much hope, but the reality is, as I'm sure you know, only 10 percent of them stay clean. I guess I hang in there for that 10 percent.

52. Not a thing anyone says or does will make a difference until she herself demands change in her life. That's the way it is, whether the person is obese, addicted, or alcoholic. NO amount of teeth gnashing on an internet board will do anything for her. For me personally, I say, better her than me.

56. where is this womans family? I have heard about her father a few times, but never about her mom??? Does she have a sister or brother?? Someone help this woman...this is sick. She will be dead by 2009 if this keeps up!! i can only imagine when her family looks at her baby pics or pics of her as a little girl... that they never saw this coming! How very sad. I agree. AW has an extreme, self-destructive edge that goes well beyond the effects of simple chemical abuse. She seems to be dead set on destroying herself (deliberate choice of words).

TMZ management seems to be joining some of the other a**holes who take glee in mocking and trashing AW. Sadly, these are the people she's trying to attract. It's a sick symbiotic relationship: a deeply pained , self-destructive girl with a serious death wish and a small, hate-filled, venom-spewing audience who hungers to see her suffer and die before their eyes ... and those who simply want to capitalize on that phenomenon.

The poor girl needs serious help, and she needs it soon. And the people who are hastening her tragic demise by publicly mocking her and by egging her on need to be taken out of circulation ("Amy Jailhouse", indeed!). I don't see how Harvey Levin can stand to look at himself in the mirror.
