17. First...one thing people need to realize what servers make from their pay. When I served it was 2.13...and this was before the last minimum wage increase. Checks went towards the taxes on the tips, so the checks...really don't mean much. If a server waits on one table for hours(which Im sure this server was assigned specifically to him..but I cant be positive)...that server only made $5, or 10 an hour.

Now he goes back and sends the tip and that it was a misunderstanding??? Not a misunderstanding until all of America found out what he is all about. He does not tip...he does not appreciate others...

Montrose is where I worked...hmmm wonder if it was the same restaurant? But then again...I think he frequented all the restaraunts there..especially on the hill.

18. No surprise to hear this come up eventually. Lebron and crew dined at the Ruths Chris here in San Diego on my roomates shift. They ran up a $900 dollar bill with his xtra well done steak and tipped $30. Knew it would be "news" somewhere someday on his cheapness.

I love the brothers, lots of my friends are brothers yet I know when I used to work in the restaurant business as a waiter and bartender, I would have to agree that on average 10% of black people tip well. I am saying this after 5 years of experience. The service was always good but the inside joke when we would see a "black group" come in, we'd think: "I am going to get stiffed on this one." This isn't racist; its just a fact as it relates to my experience and others I worked with. Still, I am surprised LeBron follows the same rule and keeps the stereotype alive.

22. I live in the Cleveland area, ahd LaBron is famous for not tipping in any restaraunt he eats at. He comes in with a large group, takes advantage of his celeberty status and leaves nothing for a tip when he leaves. I for one refuse to wait on him when he comes in. He needs to take a course in manners!

24. so what? its the waiters job to wait and serve people if they don't like it then they should go out and get another job...here is an idea...become a stripper!!!!!!!!!!! strippers get paid on tips...a waiter has an established salary anything else is EXTRA not a requirement....it is lame that they expect a tip for DOING THEIR JOB....in that case then every employee in the customer service field should be getting tips....

25. all you morons claiming that tips are not expected or required when dining out and stating that "THEY WANT SOMETHING EXTRA JUST FOR DOING THEIR JOB...." should realize that servers do NOT make their money in the form of a paycheck. the tips are the only reason they are there doing that work. if you don't want to tip appropriately, DON'T EAT OUT. stay home and cook for yourself, clean your own dishes and save some money. the reason this is a public matter is that LeBrick is a star and as such he receives special treatment, LIKE A STEAKHOUSE STAYING OPEN TIL NEARLY 4 AM JUST SO HE AND HIS BUDDIES CAN ENJOY SOMEONE ELSE BRINGING THEM FOOD AND DRINK. in a situation like that, after the party's over and you're a high roller like LeBrick, you are expected to take care of the people who have been taking care of you until well in the wee hours of the morning. whether or not he is overrated as a basketball player, as a public figure, his behavior in public can and WILL become a matter of public record whether for better or for worse. he should realize it and so should every other celebrity before they go out and make a jackass of themselves. i have waited tables myself and there is NOTHING more accravating than someone running up a big tab and then leaving a tiny tip. he should know better, and if he does already then he should be ashamed. i think LeBrick showed us all what a classless cretin he is when he put his hands on Arenas at the free throw line a few years ago in that playoff game.

27. To all of you post that servers make a salary and we should be grateful for any tip we get. If you ever get the urge to dine out please go to Burger King and have it your way. You are all sadly misinformed. Every state that I know of gets away with paying servers less than minimum wage because almost aways tips will bump you up over minimum wage. Servers in the US make an average of $2.13-$3.67 an hour. So to say we make salary and tips are a bonus you're an idiot. If this restaurant closed at say 11:30pm as most do that server stayed for an additional 5 hours after closing for $15.00 salary after taxes. The tip he got was $10.00 (which he has to then tip the bartender, bussers, and anyone else the restaurant requires him to tip out to. So in the end those five hours he was making less than $5.00 an hour. If you can't afford to tip your server between 15-20% go to BURGER KING! You apparently can't afford the luxury (thats exactly what going out to it is) of dining out.

And as other people have said on here. Nothing racist, I have had some black people tip me very well but most servers fight over who is going to take the table because more often than not, your lucky if they tip you 10%.

28. I've been a waitress for many years. Black people rarely tip, make the waiter/waitress stand there while they figure out what they want, and make such a show of themselves like they've never eaten out before. They have a nasty attitude and look around to see if anybody else got their food ahead of them so they can feel discriminated against. They act like they shouldn't even have to pay for the food!
