Al Sharpton's Next Challenge: Uncle Sam

The Rev. Al Sharpton may need to reach further into his pockets to pay his debts. A whopping 1.5 mil!

Government records obtained by the AP suggest that the Rev and his business entities owe nearly $1.5 million in overdue taxes and associated penalties.

The U.S. attorney is investigating his nonprofit group. Sharpton's lawyers and the staff of his nonprofit group, dispute the size of the debt under investigation and have been negotiating with the federal government. The group has also been trying to pay off tens of thousands of dollars it owes for failing to properly maintain workers compensation and unemployment insurance.

The Wesley Snipes school of tax evasion may have another graduate!

46. That money wasn't enough...and those white people gave that money as a tax write off. All that money went into uncle sams pocket by the end of the day. It's like a bank paying itself. The people aint get it. Kanye was right, and Sharpton & Obama are on the right track to change America!

47. Look at what those blacks did in Los Angeles just yesterday. They thought it would be funny to start a riot against the Mexicans because they make up most of the population at school so they set out recruiting school mates and on Friday the Police had to break up a 600 Student Brawl. 4 students were arrested...I wonder where Sharpton's going to spark more hate crimes next?

53. Btw, New Orleans is DOWN there, as in below sea level. I wonder how much of their Fraudulent money the great Revs donated to help their fellow brothas out. Sounds like Sharpton should've donated a little more, maybe he wouldn't be in the predicament he's in now. He could have use the tax write off.

56. Here's a list of more sizeable donations!!! Still not enough money Darquan??? Yeah, don't bother answering - I already know your lazy remark!!!
---------------------------------------------
Kuwait made the largest single pledge, $500 million; other large donations were made by Qatar ($100 million), South Korea ($30 million), Australia ($10 million), India, China (both $5 million), Pakistan ($1.5 million), and Bangladesh ($1 million).

The American Red Cross, Southern Baptist Convention, Salvation Army, Oxfam, Common Ground Collective, Emergency Communities, Habitat for Humanity, Service International, "A River of Hope" and many other charitable organizations provided help to the victims of the storm. These organizations raised $4.25 billion (USD) in donations by the public, with the Red Cross receiving over half of the donations.

Many corporations also contributed to relief efforts. On September 13, 2005, it was reported that corporate donations to the relief effort were $409 million, and were expected to exceed $1 billion.
