LOS ANGELES According to American Idol spokesperson Andrea Jamison, the rumor about Jeff Archuleta, Idol contestant David Archuleta’s father, being banned from backstage and rehearsals is false.
“The rumor that surfaced yesterday on an entertainment Web site about Mr. Archuleta are categorically false,” said Ms. Jamison. “As part of normal procedures at American Idol, all family members of contestants and personal coaches are prohibited from participating in rehearsals during the final two weeks of the competition and the finale.”
According to online Web site TMZ, Jeff Archuleta was told this week by producers that he can no longer join his 17-year-old son David as he prepares for the show. The person was allegedly not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.
However, Ms. Jamison stated that this was mischaracterized. “The ‘ban’, if you will, applies to all family members and others not directly affiliated with the show and 19 Entertainment. This did not single out Mr. Archuleta nor do producers have any problems with his conduct whatsoever.”

21. I LOVE SIMON! Jeff Archuleta has a reputation that preceded Idol. I think David is a fantastic talent with a great future ahead of him, if Dad does not ruin it and him. However, I think David Cook is the real American Idol!

23. AI has been pushing Archuleta from the beginning. Why, I don't know. He is a lousy singer, and I am sure Elvis Presley turned over in his grave at the rendition Archuleta gave of an Elvis song. Archuleta will be a complete flop if he wins. He walks around with his eyes shut looking stupid, and even AI has told him to open his eyes. I will not watch American Idol anymore. Whether the judges want to admit it or not, they have their favorites, and Archuleta is it this season.

24. It's obvious that Simon has a crush on David "I'm just a lil' ole babe-in-the-woods" Archuleta.
Watch Simon and Randy when it's time to critique David A's performance. See their expressions!
To them, David A is a girly boy!

But once they're aware of it, they might become less obvious.

Syesha and David Cook would be the best finalists. They would rescue AI.2008. But they will both have good careers, nevertheless!

Syesha should start working on her speaking voice. Then, after AI, she should get acting training. She has the powerful singing voice. She has exhibited much emotion, so she could learn to use that for acting purposes. She is easy on the eyes, and she showed some terrific moves in her last couple of outings. She has style!
