Farina Booked on Felony

TMZ has learned Dennis Farina is being booked on felony weapons possession charges.

As we first reported, Farina was busted at LAX this morning after airport security saw he was carrying a loaded .22 caliber pistol in his briefcase at a security checkpoint. We're told cops decided to change the booking from misdemeanor to felony after they determined the gun was not registered. Prosecutors could eventually charge him with either a misdemeanor or felony.

Farina is being held on $25,000 bail. He's still in custody.

16. He is being held on 25,00 bail? That is less than the price of lunch at LAX. Hey TMZ, how about getting an editor.

20. mitzi ... when they get to the post and they see zero comments .. they think it's cool or makes them more important to say they got the "first" post .. when in fact .. it's 2nd grade behavior and i really wish the mommies and daddies wouldn't give their children unsupervised computer time.

it's irritating ...

and on topic ...

loser .... you're not a cop .. you just played one on TV. when are you celebs gonna get a clue that you're not above the law ... because i, for one, am SICK OF IT.

21. Thank you raven for answering. I agree. I always thought it was childish.

22. I can see this happening. If you have/keep weapons around you could forget it was in your briefcase. Hopefully they decline to prosecute.

23. The felony charge and high bail is silly. Farina is a retired cop. He is allowed to carry a firearm. He is not a terrorist, or any threat to the LAPD. Sounds like the LAPD has messed up again.

26. DENNIS FARINA WAS A (REAL) CHICAGO COP FOR 19 YEARS. If he weren't famous he would not have been arrested. What ever happened to the brotherhood of law enforcement?

So you know him personally? Wow.. oh wait you don't? so you formed a personal opinion on someone you don't even know personally? And for this him getting arrested brings you pleasure? Jealous? Or just another hate filled TMZ puppet?

28. LOL- cute answers from these "retired cops", but the reality is that he's carrying an UNREGISTERED, LOADED, hitter's gun. Yes, this is a FEDERAL charge, California has no jurisdiction here, and yes, Mr Farina in a deep pile;

Cops- ex or not- aren't the brightest bulbs on the tree. Making them into actors doesn't exactly inflate their IQ's

29. NO WAY DID HE FORGET IT WAS IN THERE...SORRY, HE IS NOT ABOVE THE LAW JUST BECAUSE HE PLAYS A COP ON TV.....NO ONE CAN BREAK THIS RULE AND HE SHOULD BE CHARGED JUST AS YOU OR I WOULD....NO FREE PASS ON THIS ONE ! STUPID YES.....
