"Alpha Dog" Trial's Top Dog Allowed to Rumble

The prosecutor who shared confidential court docs and police records with the director of "Alpha Dog" -- that halfway-decent movie with Justin Timberlake -- will be allowed to continue working on the real-life murder trial on which the film was based.

The California Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the actions of Ron Zonen, the Santa Barbara County Deputy District Attorney, did not warrant removal -- even though Jesse James Hollywood's lawyer claimed "Alpha Dog" unfairly tainted his client for potential jurors.

"Alpha Dog" was inspired by Jesse James Hollywood's alleged masterminding of the 2000 kidnapping and murder of a 15-year-old whose older half-brother owed Hollywood $1,200.

While no trial date has been scheduled, prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Hollywood, who is charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping.

They killed him cause they were scared for their lives, they were scared what Jesse would do to them if they didnt do what they were ordered to do! He deserves everything that is coming to him! He should spend the rest of his life in jail rather than frying (thats the easy way out) he needs to live and be passed around the prison!

18. AM SORRY FOR UR LOSS TIFANY........I OPPOSE THE DEATH PENELTY I CANNOT SEE HOW TAKING A LIFE CAN POSSIBLY MAKE SOMEONES PAIN EASIER OR MAKE THEM FEEL BETTER.PLUS THERES ALL SOME MANY STORIES OF MISCARIDGE OF JUSTICE. BEEN PROVEN WHEN ITS TO LATE .NO PERSON HAS A RIGHT TO SAY WHO ON WHAT LIST LIVES OR DIES..WE ALL COME INTO THIS WORLD THE SAME JUST AS WE ALL LEAVE THE SAME WAY.KILLING OTHERS CANNOT IN MY EYES IS NOT OK.....ITS NOT JUSTICE.ITS COMMITING THE SAME CRIME AS THE INMATES.....MURDER,,,,,,,,,,,MANY CRIMES ARE EVIL BUT WHO ARE WE TO TAKE WHATS NOT OURS TO TAKE,,,A TERRIBLE CRIME HAPPENED IN MY OWN FAMILY .MY COUSIN WAS 23 AND HAD HER WHOLE LIFE AHEAD OF HER.SHE WAS MURDERED STRANGLED THEN HER BODY DUMPED IN A FEILD..KILLING WHOEVER DID THIS TO MY COUSIN WOULD NOT MAKE IT ANY BETTER OR EASIER.FOR ME/I CANNOT SPEAK FOR OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS.ONLY FOR MY OWN BELIVE THAT ITS NOT OK TO TAKE LIFE .

19. What is wrong with you people? Have you forgotten that in the United States of America a person is INNOCENT until PROVEN GUILTY. This is not Iraq, or Iran, or some third world country. Who made you people the judge and jury? How could you POSSIBLY know all of the facts about this case? Are you basing your knowledge upon what you have seen in the media or in some Hollywood movie? You should be ashamed of yourselves. There are so many holes in all of your reasoning. "The boy that was killed could have ESCAPED at anytime he wanted to, but didn't." "What a coward to order the murder and then run away." My dog has more common sense. What do think, this kid is another 'Charles Manson'? Do you think he is able to control and brainwash people? Can any one of you tell me the name of the person that ACTUALLY KILLED the boy? Who is he and what mental state could he have possibly been in?
People like you are nothing but ignorant vigilantes. Go live in the Middle East where your brand of terror and public conviction is more accepted. This is the United States of America.

20. LA Times and Daily New had him labeled "COLD BLOODED KILLER" and "MASTER MIND"berfore authorities ever even questioning him based on the word of the actual shooter. I think that would make any kid want to run and hide. A bad choice in retrospect. Easy to say when you are caught "Jesse James Hollywood told me to do it". The media took that and ran with it. Based on the comments I've seen here the media is winning instead of the truth. How much credibility can a guy have who was able to stand over a young boy and fill him full of bullets. Not much in my opinion.

21. I also do not believe in the Death Penalty and thank god that i live in a country were it is not practiced. Before all you nay sayers jump on me about justice for the victims and their families you should know I know all about it, having had my brother murdered in 2004. There is not a day that goes by that i don't miss him terribly, and wish things were different, he was 14 yrs old and my baby brother. We all loved him dearly, but rather than live with vengence and hate in our hearts, we are satisfied in the knowledge that blood is not on our hands, and that his murderer will live the rest of his life behind bars where he belongs. when you let anger and hate consume you it is hard to remember what the love of one you lost feels like. My borther was a kind loving person, and would not have hurt anyone , that was the kind of person he was, and that is the kind of people my family and I are striving to be.I admit that the only things i know about the trail is what i seen in the movie but people screaming for death seems to me a step back for society not a step forward. Everything about this situation goes to show mans lack of empathy and compassion, those of you calling out for the death penalty are just as bad as this Jesse Hollywood character ordering the death of that boy.....Where's the difference??? No one has the right to take a life, you did not give it, so you have no right to take it away. He will pay, as all of us do for the things we do. But no man has the right to be judge ,jury and executioner

23. Well I think you all are in a rush to justice, all on the information that was given by Criminals, they people who were actually there, and lets not forget that all of this came down due to Nikcolase Markowitz's brother who is also a criminal look up his record....Maybe if he was not a criminal, his brother would not have been exposed to these people....And are we all forgetting about the recent case of the Marine wife, who suposedly killed her husband with poison, all on peoples Idea because she got Breast implants after he died, that she had killed him for Insurance money...Well Evidence was wrong, and the conviction overturned and she is Free....So let's see what evidence there is before we rush to Judgement..According to evidence Jesse Was not there...And these boy's who were on trial for there lives, said he ordered them to do it....It is kind of like Kids getting in trouble and then blaming it on the other kid....By no means am I discounting what happened to Nicholas, but lets not put someone to death on Rumor....That would be another sinceless death....If it were your family memeber you would want them to have there day in court....There is more to this story then meets the eye...Look up how many people who recently have been set free because evidence was wrong....some spending 20 years in Jail only to be set free, what if the death penalty had been given to them, and many have said it was mistaken Idenity...Our Judicial system is lacking....And will Jesse's death bring back that boy, NO...Let's Hear Jesse's story first....Death is final, to forgive is Eternity...

24. To Bombshell:
I am a cousin of Nicholas Markowitz. You can have your opinions about Jesse just as anyone else can but lets be honest. If you say your a friend of Jesse then you know who Jesse is you know how he acted and the person he portrayed himself to be. The home videos that Americas most wanted showed of him at his home with guns and drugs and everything else a criminal would have. Is enough to show what his intensions could have been at any given moment. People need to stop talking about the shooter (Ryan Hoyt) he has already had his trial and been sentenced for what he has done. And with him whats done is done.
As for Jesse Hollywood
#1 He ran from the cops and was hiding for years from the cops. Why would someone who feels they are innocent hide? Why????
#2 The Movie Alpha Dog well lets just say this is a movie and it has alot of truth and it also has alot of lies. But what people dont realize is that Jesse Hollywood's father had alot to do with the movie and talked alot with Nick Casevette as well as went to the set to watch the movie be in progress. Nicks family had no input in the movie excpet for letting the actors know who they were so they can be portrayed correctly(which did not happen)
Someone is dead and our family is still suffering for an act of stupidity, remember the drug dispute was between Jesse Hollywood and Ben Markowitz. Ryan Hoyt was not involved in the drug dispute so why would he kill without an order to get nothing out of it?????

25. It is Presumed innocent until proven guilty. I believe that the trial will show he was complicit in these murders.

26. i agree and understand every thing jamie has written about.....no one has any right to make judgement on weather a person should live or die.,god forbid it ever happened to my son no matter what his crime, how dare a man as equal as myself deside the fate of my or anybody elses child for that matter.if ever the death penelty came enforced again in england it would be a tradgety,id no longer feel safe.id feel oppressed.....how dare anybody take my or my childrens life away.one who was borne into this world and leave this world the same way.as the next person, his education his job his class, these seem to be justifiable in takin lifes.........someone please help me out.how can it be ok!!!!!

30. I was searching through TMZ trying to fill my once intelligent brain with my addiction for mindless celebrity gossip when I came across this article. I have to say that I took the time to read everybody's comments. I think people are letting their emotions get carried away with this. You are arguing back and forth with each other about people that most of you do not know. I am sad for the loss Nicholas. It is a horrible tragedy that something like that could happen to such a young child. If Jesse were the responsible party than I think by all means he should be punished to the fullest. A person who could convice comrads to kidnap and kill an innocent boy for $1200 is a danger to society and does not belong on the streets. Furthermore, it is not fair to the people of California to have to use their hard earned tax dollars to keep him incarcerated. That's where the death penalty comes in handy. However, Jesse has not been convicted of this crime. I therefore think that everyone should stop the calling of the lynch mob until he is found guilty in the court of law.

I saw the movie too. I cried like a baby for that poor boy, I was begging him to run away when he had the chance, I wanted to jump through the tv and kill every last one of those a-holes that kidnapped him. I was praying Jesse got caught. I cried for Nicholas's mother. At the end of the movie, I just sat there and hoped Jesse would get the death penalty, That's the emotions I felt. And, I should have felt that way because I was watching a MOVIE. That's what a good movie makes you do. I don't know much more about the case other than reading a few stories here and there, or watching Alpha Dog. I can't say Jesse is a horrible person who deserves to die because I don't know him personally.

May instead of spending so much time to argue back and forth about who is right, who is wrong, who deserves to die, and who doesn't..... we should sit back and pray for the families of all parties involved that they find peace and solice in this horrible situation. For they are the ones suffering now. Maybe we should take a minute to think about how fortunate we are in our own lives. Do the math, count your blessings...
