Archuleta's Dad Gives Producer Cold Shoulder

Jeff Archuleta, David's dad, showed up in the audience for tonight's "American idol" and made it clear -- he's pissed at the producers.

As we first reported, Jeff was such a troublemaker, he was banned from backstage rehearsals. According to our spies, on tonight's show during commercials, Jeff shot darts at Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe. J.A. stared Nigel down and was enraged as he watched the E.P. visibly excited as David Cook performed.

Jeff seemed chummy with Randy. The two bro'd out during several breaks. He hugged Paula two times and whispered something in her ear and she nodded in agreement. No interaction at all with Simon.

Jeff was trying to get the attention of legendary songwriter Diane Warren, but she pretty much wouldn't give him the time of day.

32. Creepy father has made a very creepy son. It really makes my skin crawl to see him now. I feel sorry for him because his father has probably ruined the poor kid with his controlling creepiness, but that doesnt mean I can stand to watch him.

33. I think David has a great voice and can make it with SOME help from his father. However , the old man better step back a few spaces and let the kid stand out FIRST. Jeff, do you want a book written about you? "Daddy Dearest" or maybe "Gypsy David" ? Think about it before you've lost your son completely. GOOD LUCK DAVID.

45. David Cook was terrible tonight. What's up with his fake "Happy Mother's Day" comment. He's a wannabe and will never be a Chris Daughtry. Syesha is more the true winner of Idol, but the producers can't see anything past fake Cook.

I feel so sad for David A. His Dad has ruined his life and taken away a great opportunity. He's very talented for a 17 yr old kid and with the right people working with him he could have a career. People on the set say he is very nice and humble. Can't imagine the stress he's under having to deal with is Dad and know the producers that want him off the show (what was that producer's choice). Syesha should win, but David has (I mean had b/c of father) most potential.
