Archuleta's Dad Gives Producer Cold Shoulder

Jeff Archuleta, David's dad, showed up in the audience for tonight's "American idol" and made it clear -- he's pissed at the producers.

As we first reported, Jeff was such a troublemaker, he was banned from backstage rehearsals. According to our spies, on tonight's show during commercials, Jeff shot darts at Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe. J.A. stared Nigel down and was enraged as he watched the E.P. visibly excited as David Cook performed.

Jeff seemed chummy with Randy. The two bro'd out during several breaks. He hugged Paula two times and whispered something in her ear and she nodded in agreement. No interaction at all with Simon.

Jeff was trying to get the attention of legendary songwriter Diane Warren, but she pretty much wouldn't give him the time of day.

122. Funny about all the fuss about the all the beautiful girls line David Archuleta sang in Stand by Me. The producers used it as an excuse to ban the Dad because they were supposedly so against it. Then they used it for the concert tour like it was their idea and supported it all along. By the way, there was no way David A or his Dad could have had that in there with the band playing the music for it unless there was permission and approval for it. The whole thing was just a way to hurt David Archuleta because David Cook was the person that they wanted to win. Real nice too how they let it be leaked out when David was at his home town visit. It was supposed to be this great day for him and then they did that on that particular day. Pretty rotten. He's a nice, talented kid who didn't deserve all this crap. Also the producers did not allow any direct comparison. They were all supposed to sing the National Anthem and the producers decided they didn't want that comparison (go to youtube and see for yourselves) and for the first time they didn't have the final two sing the same song. They did everything they could for David Cook and it worked. They played all of you and TMZ was the producers dream come true.
