"Idol" castoff Kristy Lee Cook is getting too big for her britches -- at least in her own head.

The songstress called her local nail salon in Grants Pass, Ore. yesterday to make an appointment, and get this -- Kristy asked to be ushered in through the back door to avoid the crowds of adoring fans. Only problem, there weren't any!

No one at the salon had even heard of her. Needless to say, Cook walked in unharmed by the swarm of no one and got her nails and feet did. It's hard being famous y'all!

48. My sister lives in Grants Pass and she has shown me the local newspaper articles on Kristy, who, by the way, has received a lot of publicity there as the "local girl makes good." The town was proud of Kristy and I don't know why the salon people didn't know her. They probably didn't want to appear "star struck."

49. Kristy Lee Cook is just a small town girl with a dream. You people should stop trashing her. There's nothing sadder than people who make fun of someone trying to live their dream. How about some positive reinforcement? Or, God forbid, some empathy?

53. it looks like it was from a camera phone, and the town does know her.. but no one really cares if she succeeds or not, the way she acts after getting a taste of fame has ruined any prayers or dreams that people hope she accomplishes.. i was friends with her we went to ivhs together... i guess all us little people are nothing now... too bad she didnt remain cool otherwise we would be more proud of her, just cause some peoples dreams are different then others doesnt mean they arent valid.. go eat the sandwich named after you, sign autographs in a store parking lot for an hour, fly from here to there... but at least still be the same person you once were.... oh and america just so you know she sold her horse to buy another one, not to go to auditions...liar you dont even ride!!!!

56. So"hahahyousuck" went to school with Kristy? Ha-ha you LIE! Kristy didn't go to IVHS. She played softball there, but that was it! Maybe Kristy doesn't acknowledge you because you're a jerk, ever think of that? Kristy is sweet as ever and she signed autographs for 5 hours at the welcome home, where the crowd was huge for this area, probably giving rise to her concerns about being recognized. She obviously has more class in one of those little fingers getting manicured than you will EVER have.
Her fans support her, whether they are from GP, Selma, CJ, or anywhere else. She's not only a fabulous rider, she has an amazing vocal talent.
If you don't know who she is now, don't be surprised if you do in about a year, when she is a country phenom,
