NFL Star: Wal-Mart Left Kids Out in the Cold

Andre JohnsonNFL superstar Andre Johnson claims his charity got stiffed by Wal-Mart -- it all involves water and ice. Yes, ice.

Johnson ordered 750 bicycles to be given to underprivileged kids at an event sponsored by the Andre Johnson Foundation -- in return for the purchase, Wal-Mart agreed to donate water and ice for the May 3 event.

But there was a problem with the order, so Johnson ended up buying fewer bikes than planned. Wal-Mart countered by not giving the water and ice as promised. That's cold.

Wal-Mart is trying to rectify the situation. They tell TMZ, "We are reaching out to the Andre Johnson Foundation as we speak to rectify the situation. It's disappointing that this happened."

19. hmmm...i bet this negative publicity costs walmart a little more then some bottled water. bet its also more then the trouble it would to fire the a-hole at walmart corporate or where ever that makes these decision that will clearly make them look bad. HA

20. Just one reason among many why people should boycott WalMart! The average kids bike at WalMart is about $80, now multiply that by 677 and you will see that WalMart made $54,160 from that purchase alone. That's more than what they pay their managers in one year, and it was all from ONE purchase made by a man who is trying to do something nice for the less fortunate. Last time I checked, water was free. You do the math. Sam Walton is probably rolling in his grave right now at what those bastards have done to his company.

27. If WalMart would hire smart Managers this would not happen. The management just does not use common sense or their brains. Johnson paid full retail value for the bikes, so Walmart did not have a lost at all. Why doesn't Walmart Headquarters hold a big management meeting or issue a manual telling the store managers how too stuff.

28. WAL-MART SUCKS!! WHY DIDN'T HE JUST GO TO TARGET? THEY WOULD HAVE MATCHED HIS CONTRIBUTION AND HE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HELP MORE KIDS. IT SUCKS WHAT WAL-MART DID ABOUT THE WATER AND ICE ISSUE BUT HEY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
