Fantasia -- If You Can't Say Something Nice ...
The judges didn't weigh in after Fantasia's interesting performance on "American Idol" last night -- but Simon's thoughts were written all over his face.
What a lovely shade of Detroit Hair Show red!

153. You either love her or you don't, but how many people reading this have accomplished what she has and not changed one bit! Fantasia is a proud, talented, black woman and should be praised. Simon is just Simon, hilarious.

155. My God! That big, fat, horse of a woman! What trash! Simon: I read you loud and clear, and I agree!!

156. Simons face was priceless! I had the same "what the hell is that??" look also. Fantasia is a wanna be, Mary J needs to give that woman some lessons in class, decorum, professionalism and singing. Fantasia is a joke. Another proof of you dont need talent to be in Hollyweird.

157. Simon and I had the same face: WTF?!?! Frrst of all, over 60% of the singing was by the backup singers. And when she did vocalize, she didn't really sing. It was more like guttural blurts. She was not following any melody with her voice. Which is a shame because the woman can sing. Her rendition of "Summertime" on Idol is possibly the best version of that song I've ever heard. She also did a credible job in The Color Purple.
The performance on Wed was an embarrassing display. Enough said.

158. OMG!!! I thought Fantasia was a good perfomer/singer when she was on idol, but that performance was just awful, Actually awful does not really describe it. The look on Simon was truly priceless and he did not need to comment afterwards becuase his face sadi it all. As far as her look it was also terrible. Now I don't agree in hating someone for being overweight, but she needed to dress better for her size/figure. You can be overweight and still put together a nice outfit. I don't even know what to say about the hair! I do feel that people place too much emphasis on looks and not ta

159. I'm sorry Renita, but I don't care if she's black, white, or another color/ethnicity. IMO, race has NOTHING to do with how her preformance went.
She was hands down terrible.

160. OMG I sat there wih my mouth open the whole performance! I busted a gut when I saw Simon's face...and her nasty hair and braces...It's a joke that she won...seriously!

161. C'mon, folks. What's with all the comments about this woman being fat and unattractive? Does it make you feel better about yourselves?? Perhaps you should be excused for thinking that an average-sized African American woman with dark skin is fat and ugly, since these are things that have been taught to you. Such ignorance! I'm a huge fan, but I, too, was puzzled by the outfit and crazy moves. I laughed myself silly after seeing Simon's reaction, too. Does that mean Fantasia should never have won the competition, ABSOLUTELY NOT!! She's (normally) a brilliant performer. Although I'll be the first to admit her voice isn't at all conventional, it is however highly distinguishable and loved by many a dedicated fan. If you're too shallow to recognize that, then you should have phoned in your votes for Diana Degarmo.

162. Hair, attire, performance, dancing (?) aside: the whole thing sucked. It is my hope that she never sets foot on the AI stage again. The producers should hang their heads in shame for allowing that to take place. Was there no rehearsal? Did they have no clue what "it" was going to do? A person would have to be dellusional to actually consider what she did entertainment. It was horrible. I'd rather be entertained by William Hung - at least he knows he's no David Cook.

163. For someone to call Fantasia or her performance ghetto reminds me of Don Imus calling those girls on the basketball team nappy headed hoes! Some people are so ignorant...Fantasia was being real - she let the music move her and she wasn't holding back. This aint a cookie-cutter performance-the girl was working the stage in a way that you will not see too often in the pop music world. If I wanted to go to a concert and have fun and be entertained, you could bet that I would choose Fantasia over someone like Leona Lewis ANY DAY...Thank you Fantasia for keepin it real and bringing some real energy to the game!

164. OH AND TO THE COMMENTS MAKING REFERENCES TO CRACK WHORES - THAT IS JUST WRONG! That is plain disrespect. It makes me so damn pissed off that people hate on her cuz the girl can dance - sorry she just aint up there doin some 2 step. Its like the same thing that happens in the club - white people always trippin over how we do some new reggae moves or hip hop moves...oh lawd I could just imagine the shock on the white people's faces if they could catch a glimpse of some of our african singers and dancers! Damn up tight middle class anglo-saxon....u know where I am going with this...don't hate just because you don't understand something.

165. She looked fabolous by the way...this is pure culture anyway - black women would wear alot of things that white women would never wear - and guess what?! they can still get away with lookin sexy cuz they know how to pull it off - i.e. FANTASIA last night. The suit with the belt looked glam and her hair was hot - the blonde didnt look nice on her. What I feel, honestly, is that white people love to jump on any dark-skinned entertainer anytime they do somethin out of the ordinary or they are having some hard times. You start hearing things like "oh, thats ghetto", "ugly", "crack", "monkey", "gorilla", beast and so many names that I'm sure alot of white people feel deep down about some black people but never get the chance to say it outloud. Instead, they come online and start spittin some racist and discriminative shpiel. It's kind of amusing that y'all are even confused by her performance - YOU NEED TO GET OUT! Go to a black church - go to a black club...honestly you guys dont even understand us at all and we have lived in the same country with you hundreds of years now! I don't even think we should have black history day or month anymore, we should just dedicate one long year to helping other cultures (especially white north americans) understand black culture - period. There is alot of misconceptions about the way we dress, eat, talk, sing, act, and the ignorance has become racism and I don't know if I can take it anymore.
Oh and by the way, I know y'all just started taking Mary J seriously when she started dressing all Gucci and won a grammy for "be without you"...before that Mary J was getting the same hate that Fantasia is getting now, saying she cant sing. Just RI-DI-CU-LOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
