We're Crying in Our Cabernet

Robert MondaviLegendary winemaker Robert Mondavi went to the great cellar in the sky today at the age of 94.

Mondavi, who Wine Spectator calls "one of the most influential and admired winemakers in California history," founded the winery that bore his name in Napa Valley in 1966. He sold it in 2004. This isn't Boone's Farm, kids.

He died in his home in Yountville, CA.

16. Robert Mondavi was and will forever stand as a true pioneer and innovative force in the history of American winemaking.

To poster #12 I can only say this - you know nothing. Full stop. Your lack of respect for this man and his accomplishments speak volumes to your own lack of character - ergo - your own failed place in this world.

To poster #14 - You too, know something next to nothing - misplaced patriotism notwithstanding.

17. Mondavi said in an interview some years ago that his regular daily routine was this:

2 ounces of red wine mixed in with his morning coffee.

1/2 bottle of white wine with lunch.

A full bottle of red wine with dinner.

Makes me think I should drink even more wine....
