You Can't Take Your Eyes Off John McCain

And on last night's "Saturday Night Live," the Republican nominee for president couldn't take his eyes of the cue cards.

And what's with all the blinking? Guess it was way past his bedtime.

16. He did better reading off of the cue cards than most of the actors who have hosted. It drives me crazy when they are involved in skits and their eyes never leave the cue cards at the side of the stage.

17. I thought he was funny. Get real, TMZ. Half the cast of SNL need the cue cards. Fallon couldn't do a routine without them to save his life. Watch any show featuring real actors. I'm always amazed at how dependent they are on the cards. Sheesh.

18. Thats too late for him,he's usually in bed by 7:30.And for all the bad talk about Rev Wright,John Mccains's pastor called the Catholic religion a big whore.Good old conservative hypocrites.

19. Are you kidding me? He did a great job. Did you see Robert DeNiro and Christopher Walken's last appearance on SNL? The entire show, they read off cue cards and never looked at the other actors. If I had been a cast member, I would have been so upset. PLEASE....aren't they academy award winners too? It was so distracting, I had to turn it off.

20. That was hilarious. Yes, his performance (or reading) was a little wooden but he still showed more spunk and personality reading off cue cards than Algore has shown his entire life. It shows the guy has a sense of humor. More than I've seen of the other 2 candidates. This is his version of Obama's basketball playing to show he's a normal guy.

21. I think the dry humor is best left to Bob Newhart. McCain should not assume since he is the only white male candidate that he is the automatic winner.

Posted at 2:33PM on May 18th 2008 by No humor at all.

22. God, #20, Lighten up.

23. Oh HA HA, this was one of the funniest skits I ever seen on SNL. McCain is only saying what all of us are thinking, and that was hysterical. I would vote for him now.

24. Oh shut up you left wing morons!!! McCain is the most down to earth person to run for President in a long-ass time and his middle of the road views and honest opinions may unite this country....finally. Vote McCain!!

25. Let see we have Mccain or Barack (a solid Socialist , that michael moore (an admitted marxist) supports).
Unfortunatly - John McCain is not a great choice , but until someone comes along that is better, he might be the choice for president.

26. Oh 'cmon, no matter who y'all vote for - he was hilarious (and actually more entertaining than TMZ has been lately)....Im just sayin.....

28. Everyone on the show, including the regulars, are obviously reading the cue cards. That is one of the major things wrong with SNL. That and it just isn't funny anymore.

29. he would probably do better on SNL than in the white house.

30. John McCain looked creepy - someone should tell him to look in to the camera next time.

John McCain is a typical dyed in the wool Republican, and is of the same idealogical bent as George W. Bush. We do not need another 4 years of that type of mentality running our country. The USA is already the laughing stock of the world - nobody respects the USA, and it is because of the damage that GW Bush and the other republicans have done.
