Do something positive. Or, get on youtube, watch some videos about scientology....there's a good one called (I think) 'the ugly truth of scientology'. These people are cult members, waiting to recruit lost souls...don't let yourself become one! They want your money and your mind. Nothing more.

67. When people take psychiatric drugs they seem to become worst then before they were on these medication? Before prescription drugs they may have talk to themselves but after the drugs murderous thoughts arise.

69. So called mental health professionals will tell you themselves, that "they have a hard time with a direct diagonsis for a mental health illness", could it be that there is none? Just saying. These Drugs are dangerous. Not just those drugs but many many drugs out there. Side effects, the effects on the brain,and the person physically.

The drug companies sell medical Dr.'s a bill of goods on the "newest and greatest drug" and the Dr. hands it out like candy. Years later they say ...ooops it causes heart failure, and death!

I have a Medical Dr in my family and we agree to disagree, and I have even gotten her to "admit" that many Dr.'s over prescribe

I had a teacher come to me a few years back and tell me my Daughter needed to be on Ritilan! A freaking teacher! I said based on what? She said " ******* is always daydreaming in class, talking, etc." Well the bottom line was I took her advise for what it was, BS. My daughter was already 2 years ahhead in school and bored to death. She graduated 2 years early. This teacher and the school guildance Counc. called CPS on my family and the social worker wanted me to place her on meds...without her ever seeing a DR! What gives these people the right to diagnosis children?

71. I am continually astounded by the level of hate mongering evident in places like this site. Rather than waste all of your precious time on the computer bashing a religion and its adherents, why not doing something positive to contribute to the betterment of society? The truth is the only thing the hate mongers can do is to seek to lower the repute of individuals or groups that do good. They are unable to actually contribute in any positive way.

Will Smith says he's not a Scientologist and why not take him on his word. Some call him a liar, like they have some inside information about Will Smith's life and spiritual beliefs that the rest of us don't. Will Smith is certainly an individual that deserves respect. After all, he contributed financial help to a learning institution. How many can say that? He's done something to better our society. He hasn't tried to lower the repute of anyone, unlike some of the posts shown here.

73. Kristy, I am very sorry for the ordeal your family went through. I understand completely. I know people who have been in similar situations. I'm glad that you were able to resolve it successfully although not easily.
Not all psychiatric drugs are bad but I will agree that many are over-prescribed. I am bipolar as my screen name suggests. Before treatment I had bad mood swings which included extreme anger and, yes, murderous thoughts, as well as the occasional voice in my head. I could live with the depression and the manic spending (not easily but ...) but I refused to continue to subject my family to my rages. Since I started taking the drugs my mood swings smoothed out. I still have them but my anger no longer flares out of control and I no longer go trolling for muggers just to have an excuse for a fight. For me, the drugs are very helpful but they have been wrongly prescribed for others.
Doctors also over-prescribe a number of other drugs, particularly antibiotics. While I wouldn't say you should never take them if a doctor gives them to you for a cold, find another doctor.

Freedom of religion is a great thing until it involves brainwashing and controlled behavior. Then it stops being freedom and becomes coercion and imprisonment. This is why scientology is a cult, not a religion, and why I and many others spend so much time trying to explain the difference to other people so they won't get caught. If you really do your research, you will understand.

75. Kristy - you sound like a Scientologist. I was in a deep depression for over a month at the start of the year. I am now taking generic zoloft with therapy and everything is great. It isn't a happy pill; it just balances the chemicals in my brain. The doctor says I am doing so much better. No one has the right to discredit drugs unless they experienced it first hand!
