Nas -- It's Still Called "N*****," N****s!

As if anyone cared at this point, Nas idiotically insists the "real" title of the disc is still "N*****," even though his label says they ain't calling it that anymore.

Def Jam's story, according to EW.com, is that Mr. Kelis' latest will now be called "Nas," despite the big to-do over the name. Def Jam honcho L.A. Reid, contrary to reports, recently said Nas could call the damn thing whatever he wanted.

The best title of all might be untitled -- as in no album at all, especially after all this n-sense.

16. Nas does what he needs to do to sell records.

If we are all STUPID enough to fall for this MARKETING ploy ------ then we should have our heads examined.

17. RAP MUSIC is DEAD.....

Hurry up and die.....please! The longer it drags on the more ignorant and desperate these "artist" will get with their message - just to sell a record. - Most of them have NO TALENT, NO ENTERTAINMENT VALUE, NO STAYING POWER.

They have not figured out - that you can't wear your droopy pants, and big white t-shirts when your 50 years old.

18. all i gotta say is if you don't want white people using the word then stop using it yourselves...it's pure ignorance!

19. To #3 - I said I don't think anybody should say the "N" word.....period. It is a degrading word - no matter who you are saying it too.....no matter what race......

And since African Americans (not all - but alot) are always trying to be "equal" etc. I think that one of them using this word does not help their cause at all.......or am I wrong?

I think everyone is created equal and what you make out of your life - is how you should be judged - as nobody is perfect.....

20. I agree with Tony and I think that N**** is something that whites will never be able to understand which is why they should never use it. It's a word that comes with a painful history attached to it but some of my people chose to use it as a term of endearment. A term to bond over and it became powerful. "You're my N**** and I know ur struggle". White people can't relate to that and they only started saying it in a non-hateful way because hip-hop is the most emulated culture ever. But it still stings when I hear it off the lips of whites. It's like F*gg*t . I would never say it because I'm not gay and it's not my place but if I hear to gays saying it I'm not going to stop them. I think that it is the privilege of the people being oppressed to take any word that is used against them and use it however they please and if it is used in a positive way then isn't that a good thing? I just think that whether black choose to use the word or choose not to use it the choice should be ours and ours alone and people of other backgrounds should respect that. Y'all may not understand it but then again I don't understand 400 years of slavery, and the physiological and financial damage that still affects us.

23. Hey # 20 Radio Head Gurl STFU!!

What are you talking about. Quit bring up the past you moron. Of course slavery was jacked up, just like the holocaust, etc etc..That word is still degrading to your people even if a black person uses it. And what is funny is the majority of black people who use it are poor and uneducated.

You say oppressed people blah blah blah.. What do you do besides complain.. PEOPLE like you find a million problems in the world but cant even fix the main problem that you have control over which is yourself. No one owns words..You fool!

24. This actually reminds me of when Nirvana came out with the song "Rape Me" and everyone was so quick to judge it without even knowing the full meaning of the song or title ......and just to think 14yrs and a sucide ltr nothing has changed ..Freedom of expression is a joke ..everyone is so quick to critize ....I mean most of you act as if racism doesn't exist anymore !! it's not going to go away ..so face it ..This is why America will never see a black President so go figure....

25. The typical person that reads this site is not the intended audience... so the subtleties are lost. Nas is not using the n- word in it's usual context or trying to promote usage of the word. This is a statement album with a socio-political message. But I guess we can go back to agonizing over the Hills stars and Paris Hilton...

26. Good point Dazestr and Dogtown nobody listens to music anymore they just skim right through it ..I'm a white female and it's sad when America can't face it own reality...Racism should have the died with the dinosaurs but it hasn't and it just gotten worse.....Cause yeah stories about plutocrats have much more solitude.

27. To "Radiohead Girl" and everyone else this applies to

You say everyone is so racist against black people----YOU ALONG WITH OTHER PEOPLE "YOU WHITES"
I dont take the term white people offensive but you white that just puts all white people in the sme category and is just as racist as saying N****

And obviously your history knowledge isn't that vast and honestly neither is mine but there have been many differnent ethnicities enslaved including jewish, japanese, vietnemese, and the list goes on. I mean seriously there is nobody alive that you can blame

FYI The schools I went to- my highschool had over 4000 students of all ethnicities- all types of kids from all over the world

BUT THE MOST RACISM THAT I SAW FOR MYSELF WAS BLACK PEOLPE BEING RACIST AGAINST WHITE PEOPLE I mean white girl this, white that , right in front of the teachers and everything. But if someone calle d a black person a N**** they would be in trouble

In Indianapolis there is a Black Expo every year, some guy had the idea to have a White Expo and the mayor denyed the request saying it would cause rioting because people would think it was racist

HMMMMMM SO STOP PULLING THE RACIST CARD NOBODY IS BUYING IT BUT YOU

28. I think people who use the word black, white, whatever, just sound stupid. I feel racism and stereotyping is bad enough and if you want people to stop associating black people with living ghetto then stop using the word. Personally it doesn't make a difference to me but people will continue to judge year after year, decade after decade and will judge people on how they speak.

And if you take it disrespectfully when people of other ethnicity use the word then why would you title something that people of all color will purchase???
