Round Mound Rebounds From Casino Debt

NBA Hall of Famer and legendary blackjackaholic Charles Barkley has finally forked over a check toward the $440,000 he owes the Wynn Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas -- but officials have yet to confirm that Barkley paid in full.

According to a Wynn rep, the check has been sent to the Las Vegas D.A.'s office for processing.

Barkley insists he's giving up gambling for the next couple of years -- wanna bet?

32. No one but Sir Charles ran up and down that court - he earned the money, it's his....if he wants to dig a big ole whole and set that cash on fire it's his to do with what he wants.

For all those saying he should do good with his money - do you know that he's not? As far as paying for reduced lunch at schools - COME ON that's the biggest racket the government has going. In my State you don't have to show your income so every one that applies get's it - regardless on need. Why is that, because the school systems get a kick back from the government.

Let Charles spend his money his way - and why don't you give up your cash?

33. I'm confused. Did he not pay the Wynn, or did the check he used to pay them bounce? If the check bounced, you can blame his accountants for mishandling the whole thing. I am sure he has a privileged relationship with his bankers, so a bounced check would probably be due to an accounting mistake and not a lack of funds. Banks usually bend over backwards for clients with money like Barkley's. It is amazing that it went this far. I am also wondering why the casino has chosen to take the prosecution route. Did he take his gambling habit and his big fat wallet over to Caesar's palace?
