Is Tori Baskin' in 31 Flavors of Bacteria?

Why is Baskin-Robbins trotting out Tori Spelling to push its new line of soft-serve ice cream on other pregnant women when soft-serve is a known taboo for preggo women?

Several sources in the know -- including one pregnant OB/GYN -- tell TMZ that there are "definite" health risks associated with soft-serve ice cream for expectant moms because of Listeria bacteria. Softie machines can be studded with bacteria that can cause all kinds of issues for newborns -- in fact, Down Under, it's pretty much forbidden for preggo women.


B-R tells TMZ in a statement, "Our Soft Serve products are continuously monitored by our suppliers, and our pasteurization process is state inspected and certified on a regular basis. The only way Listeria, which has been found in a variety of raw foods, can be found in soft serve would be through improper pasteurization."

2. Oh man TMZ....digging deep for stories today! Anything can be chock full of bacteria and make pregnant woman, or any person for that matter, very sick. Heard of that scary bacteria that grows in lakes that are very shallow? Man eating bacteria! They'll eat your insides whether your a man, woman or child; and taking a dip in the lake isn't forbidden by ob/gyns!! Yeesh TMZ.

13. I love BR's statement. Listeria is not foodborne, it is an environmental contaminant and is found all around us in drains, floors, on roofs and in soil. Its IN their businesses and while it is true that the food safety hazard is not resonably likely to occur in regulatory terms in the actual ingredients....I don't trust the minimum wage worker to properly clean and sanitize their food equipment on a daily basis and would hate to see their master sanitation schedules for their place O' business! Nice job.

14. What the hell is WRONG with Candy Spelling, letting her nine month pregnant daughter work at an ice cream parlor this late in her pregnancy?

Even if you make allowances for the possibility that perhps Candy blew a $500 million fortune on jewelry at $ one million dollars a pop.
There should still be the reported $300 million dollars she got from the sale of their monstrosity of a house.

Couldn't the mother have set up a little trust fund of maybe $15 million for each for her two kids before wasting the rest?

What kind of a bitchmother doesn't help out her kids?

Even poor people would not let this happen to their heavily pregnant daughter.

Her father must be spinning in his grave.

15. The writers on this post are very poor writers. Their words do not make sense, yet are written with an air of authority. This whole site is a JOKE ! And that includes Irene Gracey, the Skinny Person, Jean Summers the cheerleader and proud owner of Sutton's Drug Store, as well as Paris Hilton's Mother, the BS Trophy Wife. Why pick on Tori Spelling ? Because she tempted away someone's husband ? Now, that is as common as apple pie !
