In an ending as easy to predict as Star Jones' marriage, Kristi Yamaguchi walked away with the "DWTS" crown last night. Did you honestly think Penn Jillette, Steve Guttenberg or Adam Carolla would win?
When we asked judge Bruno Tonioli if the show was fixed for Kristi, he took us to task for even suggesting it. Uffa!
16. The comparison of skating and dancing are fair. No one ever suggested skating was not difficult. On the contrary, personal experience or not, it doesn't take a genius to realize that dancing on skates would be more difficult than on shoes. (I won't say heels, because the male contestants were not wearing heels) That said, SHE WAS/IS A RINGER! She's overcome a lot in her life, and that's respectable. But, how dare DWTS put on someone who was for all intents and purposes a professional dancer and say otherwise. It may have been a different form of dancing, but make no mistake, figure skating is technical moves and dancing. Just like ballroom dancing is.
I took issue when they had Mario Lopez on and Joey Lawrence. They also both had extensive dancing backgrounds. Those two, however, paled in comparison to the advantage of prior training in a very similar sport that Kristi had. This year there was no competition because she so clearly had an unfair advantage. I'm not knocking her for that. I'm a fan of hers and think she seems to be a lovely person. But DWTS has a lot of nerve advertising this as a "fish out of water reality show" and then allowing contestants w/that sort of background. In future seasons I hope they take that into consideration.

17. Kinda fixed. I would like to see either *all* contestants with a dance background or all without one. Not like this year. Kristi was great but she is a duhhhh..performer. As was Winokur. To pit them against, like, Penn Jillete? Totally unfair.

18. Well, Kristi won....not a shock. She did have dance training and early in her career she was a partner in a skate team...
Kristi realized by going solo she would have a better chance for gold medals, cus the partner she had was gay and worried over that affecting their scores.
Yeah, skating on ice is hard no doubt about it. Yet, she was trained not only there but in a gym for movement/dance, acrobatics...all those flips and jumps..
So anyone who buys that she didn't have any training is full of it! It may have not been ball room dance, but she understands the timing and rythm required for dance.

23. Of course Kristan would win . I thought the show was for stars to learn to dance and become better at it. She was a champ skater was'nt she? I use to love that show ,but this year was the worst ever. Don't think i'll watch anymore appears rigged.

24. The judges DEFINITELY wanted Kristi to win....she plopped her feet down in that last routine and they STILL gave her 10's. I, too, had trouble with my voting. Voted twice (for the Chilean guy) and they told me all my votes were in - I was supposed to get FIVE, not two.

25. I agree, Miera...next time, they need some more exciting contestants. I love Kristi Yamaguchi, and I loved watching her dance, but I was kind of bored with everyone else although I like them as personalities. I like Marisa, Shannon, Jason, Christian, Mario etc....but I just did not care for them on the dance floor. My only question is this. I know so many stars want to get on this show to not only learn to dance and have fun, but to boost their careers...so, if this is true, why would they put Penn Gilette in the mix when it is obvious he would never be able to dance? I want to see some people that actually have a chance to win it. I am an ex competitive figure skater, so of course I was voting for Kristi...but really, she had no competition! I like it to be a bit more exciting. I loved the season when the finals were Joey and Apollo...you really did not know who was going to win... and they had personality. Helio, Joey, those are the personalities I love. Hopefully they will get some exciting people next season. Also, hopefully, they will get all stars that actually have a chance to win. Let's leave the Wayne Newtons at home.

26. Yes DWTS was fixed! Since the first day Christy got perfect scores. That wasnt fair! No matter what she did or that her routines were the same she got a perfect score. This was the worst season ever. Christian or Taylor should of won.
