17. Look out Davey, you may have to dissappear for awhile to recover from the beatings your perfect Mormon daddy will give you! Honestly, I'm surprised he didn't win, after all, Mormons vote for Mormons regardless of strengths or weaknesses, period (I do think he is very talented though).

You should read their silly chain emails! Guess now, there's nothing more for him than to go on a MIssion and spread the word that the Mormon Church is the One True Church (so said a 19-year old pervert named Joe) and Dead Dunking rules!

His father is out of control, and if that's what outsiders and producers have been seeing for years, then imagine what it's like behind closed doors for his son.

Some parents are intrusive, but some come close to mind control. This guy is frightening.

I really liked him and think if it were not for his stage father, he may have won...People and including myself was turned off by this factor and went for the less aggresive person and that was David Cook...Also am really pissed at yahooo...was doing some work and watching..when a pop up came on and divulged the winner before it was over...just turned it off! Something needs to be done about these spoilers...........

Unless I missed something, it does NOT say in that blurb that Clay Aiken was the WINNER. They were referring to all those who came in second and merely stated that they believe David Archuletas one shining hope would be to turn out like Clay Aiken who obviously became "more famous" and withstood the industry unlike the rest of the second runner ups.
Me thinks people are not reading properly what is printed.
The ONLY way David Archuleta will ever make it in the music business is first to grow up, second ditch Daddy and thrid expand his singing choices. All he ever sang were ballards and although they can be very nice, they can and are very boring when that is all one hears. That is why David Cook won American idol. Not only is David more the Rocker type of singer, but has been able to put his own spin on the songs and that is what a REAL Singer/Musician is all about. Just as you need to have flexibility in acting roles, you also need flexibiilty in the songs you sing. You can stick with a sepcific genre of music such as Country, but you must be able to sing both the ballards and the faster tunes. That is where David Archuleta lacks a great deal of talent.....NOT being flexible enough.
But one has to think hard about the fact that Archuleta was a contestant on Star Search and did NOT win and now Daddy put him on American Idol and he did not win. I wonder what Daddy will do next? NO record company will deal with Archuleta with Daddy hanging around giving his son wrong advice. Music Executives will drop him like a hot potato if that man pulls the same crap that he did on Star Search and American Idol. Archuleta maybe 17 biologically, but it certainly seems like his Daddy treats him like he was a 10 year old.
