78. This was a private conversation between a mother and son...having a moment's breakdown with your mother is not a definition of who a person is. There are things that I say to my mother..simply because she is all about me...that just for a moment in time..I need to feel better...it gives me a chance to take a deep breath and stand back up. It gives me the strength to be the person I need to be.
This is a young man...who made a mistake..who is paying for it. But because he is a celebrity..we will make this a daily exercise in humiliation.

If that were my son laying in the bed, I would be outraged. Sure. I'd be angry at Nick. I'd be angry at God. I'd probably be angry at everyone. And if my son did what Nick did, I would be terribly dissappointed in him. But, I would not love him any less. And I would hope that he would make the most of the life that he has. I've never said that Nick is innocent. All I have said is that he is a stupid kid who made a stupid mistake that terribly destroyed the lives of two families. There are no winners in a situation like this.

He's 17, he's still a kid, so it's not surprising that he is upset.
Here's what bothers me is where did TMZ get a copy of the taped phone conversation? It would have had to be through someone at the jail and selling or acquiring taped phone conversations from prisoners is illegal. Whoever it was at the jail that copied and either sold or distributed their taped conversation should be in a world of trouble.
Talk about having your rights violated....

83. This is a private (albeit monitored) conversation between a 17 yr old and his mother. No matter what the situation, I wouldn't want to know that someone sold me out and gave conversations to TMZ to broadcast for their own sick financial benefit.
I stopped listening. There's just something wrong about this, no matter what we feel should or should not have happened as punishment. I suggest anyone with a conscience do the same.
