Brit Back on the Box

TMZ has learned Britney Spears took a meeting yesterday with a big-time producer and may be headed to the small screen in a starring role.

Sources say Britney and her team met with Roy Bank, President of Merv Griffin Entertainment, and discussed several TV projects in which Brit would star and possibly produce. We're told one of the projects is a music show.

Makes sense to pair Brit up with Bank -- they're both repped by the William Morris Agency, which packages tons of TV shows. It was, we're told, a "serious" meeting.

The ball is now in her court, but she's definitely interested in the whole TV thing.

18. It's good to hear that Britney Spears is back at work, this time doing some roles on TV shows and a music related show. It's also good that she's doing it with Merv Griffin's production company, going with the top names. But I believe that she's serious this time with doing it. I'd like to hear another album of music from her. Blackout was a fun dance pop album!

Loving 'parent', perhaps. I have a lot of respect for what Jamie has done in the last few months, but Lynn still strikes me as the 'evil stage mom' type, similar to Dina Lohan. I feel that most of the blame for the mess that Britney has become (and Jamie Lynn too, it seems) can be laid at the feet of Mommie Dearest Spears.
