Dwayne's Ex Doesn't Want a Piece of the Rock

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's divorce proceedings are officially done, according to court docs filed last week.
Read the docs
Johnson and his now-ex-wife, Dany Garcia, have a 7-year-old daughter, Simone. According to their divorce agreement, both sides will pay $5,000 a month into a trust fund to be used towards a private school, college education and other living expenses.

Garcia and Johnson will share custody -- splitting up holidays and whatnot -- and both agreed to waive their right to alimony, though The Rock will fork over $22,454/month in child support. Don't worry about Garcia -- she made $700k last year as a financial adviser.

46. Liese: I don’t know where you got that the mother has more custody. If you look at the court papers, subsection 6(k) it reads “Non-Designation of primary physical parent. There shall be no designation of primary physical parent and the minor child shall spend her time equally, between the parties’ residents”.

Sorry kiddo, I think you projecting your own life experience onto the Johnsons.

47. Like someone said, some of you will bitch about anything. She makes her own money, does that mean he's not supposed to pay for his kid at all? She had a baby and has a job, so it's all on her? So she made 700k. How much of that went to Uncle Sam? He made 15 million for 1 movie a few years ago. Add his take from acting to his other gigs, and his earnings are in the double digit millions. So regardless of what she makes, he makes more than she does several times over. And as a result he's going to be responsible for a larger percentage of the child support. Most important, he's not going to miss a lousy $270k a year. He's earning more than that in interest each year.

He was nobody when they married. She could have taken him for half of everything. Kudos to her for wanting to stand on her own two feet. They were a cute couple. Too bad things didn't work out.

48. that is just ridiculous, yes she is working which is good there are so many people who are married to famous people and go after them for as much as they can however it does not take some 22,000 to freaking support a child so it sounds like she is trying to be a goldigger but use her child to make it look like she is not

49. WOW. An intelligent, rational divorce agreement? An agreement that put the child first? Amazing. and in Hollywood, yet.

51. Yes, it takes $25k a month to raise a kid. If she is 7, she is in the 2nd grade. She more than likely is at a private school, has dance, piano, soccer, etc. lessons. She probably has a nanny, goes on vacation six times per year. Yes, people, some kids do live this way. It could easily cost that much to raise a child.

I recall an interview he did years ago, where he was talking about how poor he was in college. He was so poor that he was sleeping on a bed that he found left out for garbage pick up. His girlfriend at the time was Dany Garcia. So, yes, she does deserve some type of alimony (call it child support or whatever). She was with him when he was a dirt poor college athlete with a dream. Most wives get some type of support when they divorce. She is getting $25k...big deal.

52. Clearly he's OK with it b/c he didn't fight it. Maybe he realizes that it's only money and remembers when he didn't have jack. I'm sure he doesn't see his daughter as a dollar amount.

Your absolutly right, in that same interview He also said that she was the bread winner and that at the time she owned her own company and was making the money so that he could follow his dream.

Rocks wife has class and style and never needed his money which is why she didnt ask for anything. The support is ordered by the courts. To all you people assumming that she is still trying to get somethign out of him, grow up.. this wasnt the Hogans ir the Federlines divorce

54. IF ANYONE DOES SADLY DIVORCE, DO IT LIKE THESE TWO GREAT PEOPLE. THEY PUT THEIR LITTLE GIRL FIRST AND THAT'S WHAT PARENTS SHOULD DO. WHO KNOWS, MAYBE THESE TWO WILL RECONCILE YEARS DOWN THE ROAD, IT'S OBVIOUS THEY HAVE LOVE AND RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER. GREAT JOB ON SETTING THE EXAMPLE FOR WHAT A DIVORCE SHOULD BE LIKE WITH CHILDREN. THE ROCK'S EX-WIFE DANY LOOKS ALOT LIKE THE LATE DANA REEVES, WHO WAS ALSO A LADY.

55. Simone doesn't need money for college, considering the MILLIONS the couple has donated to their alma mater, University of Miami. They have a building with their name in the works. I didn't care for him much before this but wow they really do show that people in Hollywood can be sane! Best of luck to the whole family.

56. It's wonderful to see a celebrity couple put their child first. I'm sorry these two split but I'm happy they did it amicably.

57. It isn't that my commet will mean a thing to their family but it is soo Nice to have a "Grown Up" settlement. This showes what nice people they both are in looking out for their child. Kudos to them both!!

59. Not need. $22K? C'mon. He's a famous/rich person with rabid fans as well as stalkers. The kid would need some sort of security. Plus mom needs to keep working, after all she's not getting alimony. That means daycare and/or nanny for after school. Yeah, it may not cost $22k a month to raise YOUR child. But you're not The Rock.

Besides, the average family may not need $22k to raise a kid, but I doubt any one of them would turn it down if they could get it.

60. Mike, I see your point on the child support. Still, I do like how both parents are handling this overall. While, in my opinion, Dana doesn't need the child support in my view, The Rock isn't complaining so why are we?

I think couples in general (especially celeb couples) need to take note on how to handle a divorce. Hope Charlie Sheen/Denise Richards are paying attention, paricularly Denise!
