"Sorry" Stone Still Gets Screwed

Sharon StoneSharon Stone finally apologized for calling China's earthquake -- the one that killed nearly 70,000 people -- "karma," but she still got dropped by another company for shooting off her big mouth.

Christian Dior said that it's ripping her face off its Chinese ads, just a day after the country's biggest movie theater chain banned her flicks from its screens. Dior says it will "immediately cancel and stop any advertisements" with Stone in them. Earlier, Stone boo-hooed: "My erroneous words and deeds angered and saddened the Chinese people, and I sincerely apologize for this."

How do you say persona non grata in Mandarin?

46. I strongly disagree with Sharon Stones comments, but this seems to be one more instance where a celeb has an opinion, abeit a moronic one, but an opinion none the less and Freedom of Speech gets a kick to the ribs once again.
Its a terrible situation in China, but making a stupid comment shouldn't cost you your career, no matter how z list is currently is. oh well, she'll just keep apologizing until it isnt a media sensation anymore, people will move on and it will be like it never happened. either that or she will only be remembered for an offhanded comment that she mistakenly said without checking with her publicist first. what would her publicist get paid for if it wasnt for that comment. shame on Sharon, but shame on everyone making it more than it is.. basically a stupid comment made without forethought. who hasnt done that.

47. My problem with her comments was never that she said China had a bad record on human rights. They do. The people who are arguing that the Tibetan government treated the Chinese badly before China invaded Tibet, I don't know but I can believe. If someone can point to even one country that has never oppressed a minority community I'd like to hear of it. I don't have a problem with people who say the US government does some bad things. They do. Of course the biggest difference is that Americans who complain about the government don't get thrown in jail. For that I will always bless the names of the Founding Fathers. My only real problem with what Sharon Stone said is when she said that it was karma that caused thousands of innocent people to die in a natural disaster. And since an indivdual's karma is based on that individual's actions, this once I agree with the people who are saying that what's happening to Sharon Stone is karma. She made the mistake (caused the harm) and she is suffering for it and no one else. That is karma.

50. Truly... this is why I believe celebrities shouldn't speak in public. ALL celebrities.
Celebrities in general are ignorant... most have never educated themselves beyond highschool...and many never got that far.
They are over-rated and over-paid. They have no idea how to handle the money or fame they have... it is just too much for them.
Celebrities are here to entertain ONLY. They are the court jesters and nothing more.
Let's all agree to ignore anything else that comes out of them.

52. So, that probably means Sharon Stone has bad Karma too, and if she has another subarachnoid haemorrhage (S.A.H) in the future, she ought to consider visiting the following link: http:// www.experiencefestival.com/how_to_remove_bad_karma

The mortality rate for S.A.H is only 40% to 50%. S.A.H is considered a form of Stroke, and causes between 1% and 7% of all strokes. S.A.H can cause seizures in a third of cases. 50% of people who expeience an S.A.H will be severely disabled, or die. Around 50% of people who have had an S.A.H will develop Epilepsy. The good news is that once the underlying cause of an S.A.H has been treated, S.A.H may not recur in the future.

Also, Cardiac MSCT carries very real risks, since it exposes the subject to the equivalent of 500 chest X-Rays in terms of radiation. So, if she did have a scan after her 1st S.A.H., then she shouldn’t ask for another one in the future, and should perhaps opt for an MRI scan instead, as no radiation or X-Rays are used in MRI scanners.

For all you sensible, logical, realistic people out there, who require proof that karma, god and religion do not exist, go to the following link and ventilate your mind with some fresh ideas:

53. Well, I only hope the Karma keeps up. The remark is just ignorant and certainly shows her archaic thought patterns and, well, there are a lot of ignorant people in the world, but not all of them get a microphone.. It's a shame when the world thinks about America, those are the things they remember most. The world generalizes too...

54. Marita, there is no quick way to clear bad karma. The only way to balance out your karma is to perform good deeds thus increasing your good karma. And even then, you have to perform three good deeds to balance out one bad one.
