I'm not familiar with the details of gun charge or Illinois law, but in the picture he's on-duty--if he's carrying the gun as an "ex-cop", maybe the rules are different.

21. you people have no sense of knowledge or insight. They raid his house couple of weeks ago his lawyer defense was that riffle they are trying to get charges on him on he had it all along from the police force when they contacted the force the force lied,and say they never issused any riffle too him, but now sources have obtained this photo of him in 2000 with the same riffle that the force did in fact lied,and say they never issused it too him bascically they were trying to get him on some charges since they had nothing to go on,but now the photo speaks for it self he did in fact had the riffle same one they took then lied,and say they never gace it too him,but yet he his standing in a photo with Travolta with it,so TMZ was being a smart ass sarcastic ,and wanted your us to stop by ,and see this post by posting Travolta,and his name to get all of our attention ,and they did.

22. I don't see how this picture proves anything. Do you see the gun in question? Can you measure the barrell from this picture. This guy is psycho. And it's obvious that now that he has seen his mug on tv - he just can't get enough of himself.

24. I hate problems like these. Nobody can come up with a solution, and you don't want to crucify the wrong person. The lady, if she wanted a divorce, then why not do it the correct way. I can't picture myself doing something wrong, and live with it this long. It's hard to come to a definate conclusion, because of all the if's. Why do people that have brains act this way. Yeah, its the Jail cell sentenance, the interrogation, and the guillt. If you loved someone, why don't you do the right thing. If there is another lover, please have the sensible way and come forward.. Quite acting like dumb people. Do the right thing. and do it fast.

28. kentwood girl, Read the story before you post next time. Travolta is not supporting Peterson. Peterson's lawyers are using a picture that happens to have Travolta in it to prove that Peterson was supposed to have the AR-15. It doesn't prove anything of the sort but Travolta hasn't taken action in this case. Peterson is using Travolta's name. Most likely without asking permission.

29. I have been keeping up with this case and follow message boards regarding the latest developments.. Greta is totally on top of this case like white on rice and her blog on her website is updated every few hours and it seems at least once a day there is a drew peterson post.

To me -- this photo proves nothing - the statement the police released said that the gun had MODIFIED -- and the barrel was shortened, which is against the law. We can't tell from looking at that photo whether it has been MODIFIED/SHORTENED or not..

It is illegal to saw off the end of a gun --- or have the barrel shorter than a certain length. From what I have read, DP's gun was FIVE INCHES too short
