Cashis' Lil' Girl -- Mama Hit Me!

CashisTMZ has learned that the baby mama of O.C. rapper Cashis is being investigated for allegedly hitting their little girl.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the young daughter of Cashis (real name: Ramone Johnson) told her elementary school nurse a few days back that her mom had hit her with a broomstick.

Sources tell us that there was a mark on the girl's arm that confirmed her story. The Orange County sheriff's office has interviewed the mother, who claims the broomstick incident was an accident. Her response to one question was...the girl ran into the broomstick. Sure...

Story developing...

17. I figured I'd get kinda blasted about my comments so let me try and explain. First off I'm not an Olympic sprinter, it was an attempt at humor. I WAS running from the spoon. That was kinda my point ( ill made I see ) My point is in today's society we are so quick when we hear stories like this to over react. Wait till all the fact come out then make your decision, Rachel I'm not suggesting hitting you kids is necessarily good parenting but there are a lot of people out there who were smacked as kids when they acted up who love their parents and their parents loved them.

18. I agree with Rebecca my middle child is like that and his funny father taught him to say Mommy did it. So one day he just might go to school and say that. RIght now he is only 2 1/2 so I have a while to worry about that. So yes this is something to look into but wait and see what happens little kids tend not to tell the whole story.

19. Give me a break!!!! I was raised by a single mom and she tore our behinds up when we needed it and apologized to no one. She was a good mother and I love her like no other and I feel like I am a good person who was raised to realize there are rules, I was going to follow them, and that my momma didn't care whether or not you called social services..she would hand you the phone. She said the day that I have to work 16 hours a day in a factory, pay to feed you, clothe you, take you to the doctor, be responsible for the trouble you get into, but can't wear your hindend out, or smack your mouth when you disrespect me then they can have you. I was never beat, I carry no lasting scares, but I have more morals, and more restraint than the out of control kids being raised today.

20. #18...you said right!!! Beating a child is not okay....THAT'S OBVIOUS!! But most kids today have no respect for people, parents, or rules because parents are supposed to be afraid to discipline their children. Totally lame!

22. LET HAVE A COURTROOM TO BRING OUR CHILDREN IN JUST FOR SPANKING AND THEN WE WANT HAVE TO BE ACCUSE OF USING A BROOMSTICK OR PUTTING ABRUSE ON A CHILD BODY.

IF WE CAN'T SPANK THEM AT HOME LET SPANK THEM IN THE COURTROOM.

AND BY THE WAY IT SHOWS THAT MOST CHILDREN THAT KILLS PARENTS IS THE ONES THAT NEVER GOT SPANK.

RIGHT ON TO THE JUDGE THAT GAVE THIS ORDER

Texas JP sued over order to spank teenager
The Associated Press
BROWNSVILLE -- A Los Fresnos couple has sued a Cameron County justice of the peace, saying he ordered the husband to spank his 14-year-old stepdaughter in the JP's courtroom.

The suit filed by Mary Vasquez and her husband, Daniel Zurita, states that Justice of the Peace Gustavo "Gus" Garza told Zurita that the teenager would be found guilty of a criminal offense and fined $500 for truancy unless Zurita spanked her in open court.

The suit describes the paddle provided by Garza as large and heavy and fashioned from a thick piece of lumber.

"The word 'club' could be fairly used as a substitute for the word 'paddle' here as it appears to be something which may have been cut from a [2-by-4] piece of lumber," attorney Mark Sossi wrote in the family's petition. "The paddles provided by the judge are of such heft and weight that an individual striking an animal with one might be reasonably reported for cruelty to an animal."

The Brownsville Herald reported that Garza declined to comment on whether he has people spanked in his courtroom. He also said he had not seen the lawsuit.

The family's suit asserts that Garza told Zurita to strike his stepdaughter repeatedly on the buttocks in open court.

Zurita said he didn't think he had a choice but to follow the order. When he was through, the judge told him he had not struck the girl hard enough, Zurita said in an affidavit.

Vasquez said she had seen the judge order other public spankings.

"It is unconscionable that a Texas judge would order a parent, much less a stepparent, be required to strike a child with such a thing in a Texas courtroom," the family's attorney wrote in a footnote on the petition.

"It is equally unconscionable that an argument could be made that such an order would fall within the lawful authority of any Texas judge."

23. Leanne this has nothing to do with black or white...no one needs or appreciates your predigest comments. This has to do with the fact that people cannot dicipline their kids anymore. I am completely against beating any child, but a good spanking has never really hurt anyone. And, as a parent myself we are not perfect and sometimes a frazzled nerve can snap and you can act out in a way that you don't normally and regret it. I can remember my mom smacking me on the head with a hair brush cause she was running late for work and I wouldn't sit still and my little brother kept taking his shoes off. She cried and apologized for it, but after having kids myself I understand.

24. Why hasn't comment #23 been removed. Leann Mayberry is only flaunting her own ignorance and obviously has nothing of value to contribute to this discussion!

25. Many of you will get pissed by this statement, but its the damn truth. Many black fol think its okay to us ea broom, electric cord, or whatever else they choose. I am not a racist, but have many black friends who were raised this way. I personally think its barbaric, and sick. Spanking is one theing- but to use such itmes to beat a child it another. I hope they get the mother some classes on parenting.

27. #26 MANY WHITES THINK IT'S OK TO F*** THEIR MAMA, CHILDREN AND DOGS, BUT IT IS WRONG TO SPANK.

28. I understand what Whamo was trying to say. She didn't say beat your children. I'm 28 and I remember the wooden spoon.

These self righteous a**holes who think you should never lay a hand on a child are stupid. Look at our world today because of idiots like you. When teachers were allowed to use discipline - did we have all these school shootings?? NO!! When parents were allowed to spank their children - was our society the type of place where it's scary to have your child play games in the neighborhood unsupervised??? NO!! I'm not saying you should beat your child but in today's society because of people like that - one smack can be considered child abuse and your world is torn apart and families are broke up.

Children have no fear and no consequences so our society is out of control. I was not beaten as a child but I thought long and hard before I did something because I was afraid of the wooden spoon (which is better than a hand because if you use a hand when you go to reach for your child they will flinch). Today, children take guns to school and don't care. What do you think they are afraid of sitting in their room or loosing their gameboys? Please.

In this particular case - I think due to the fact that the bruise was still there a day later - she was hit way too hard. I never had red marks that stayed for more than a couple hours, if that long, when I was whacked by the wooden spoon. That people is where the difference between abusing and disciplining come in.

29. Knowing what it's like to have "slap happy" parents, if the story is accurate, I feel for the child and whichever parent is responsible should receive court ordered therapy, anger management, and depending on how many times it has happened in the past, either lose custody, go to jail for a while, and/or have in home visits to monitor their interaction with the child.

On the other hand, since the "article" only mentions an elementary school and not a specific age, I'm reminded of the time when my younger sister was in elementary school (sometime between 1st and 3rd grade) and there was an accident (yes, I witnessed it and know it wasn't a "relapse" on the part of my father) where she wound up with a bruise. When asked by a family friend what happened, she replied that my father did it to her. Needless to say, quite the awkward moment ensued before the incident was cleared up.

All I'm saying is there aren't enough facts yet to start calling for the child's removal from the home or the beating down of the parent in question (not that I'd ever think the latter was an appropriate response).

30. How about some facts. Ramone is a loving father who records at night so he can take his children to school and be there to help with homework. His priority is school districts for his children rather than expensive status symbols. Unfortunately like many relationships in America he no longer lives with their mother but is still a father 100% and lives minutes away. Ramone has canceled many social arrangements to stay with a sick child. There are many aspects of the story which is really nobody's business. Sorry to say that this is one Rapper that does not fit the stereo type.
