Eddie Mac: My Income Has Fallen & It Can't Get Up

Yeah, he made millions off of "The Tonight Show," "Star Search," American Family Publishers," "Who Do You Trust," etc., yet Ed McMahon told Larry King last night he's broke as a joke.

46. I watched the Larry King special last night and although its sad to see an 86 year broke, but what he never heard of saving for retirement. With all that he made he could have put something away. I'm sorry I don't feel sorry for people that live beyond their means and he's done that for years. To buy a house that you could not afford in the first place. Then I got really mad when he said that he doesn't have income coming in because he cannot work because of his injury. HE"S 86 YEARS OLD. He should not be working. My parents barely reached their 70's and are retired traveling. How? you might ask.- SAVED FOR RETIREMENT. He worked in construction all his life and mom was a secretary at a plant. They put whatever they had. One month my mom had only 10.00 left and it went into savings. Stop trying to compete with the Smith and Joneses of the world, first of all you will go broke and will never win. Someone get that man a Dave Ramsey book.

I DON'T GET IT.

47. Ed was a pitchperson period. From start to finnish. Just never learn't abt managing the blessings of which he earned for having a deep voice and a golden opportunity sitting next to Johnny which in turn made him a household name. NEVER learn't. He isn't unlike the countless other people who r in hawk up to their eyeballs in credit card debt. Only he has to unload a multi million dollar home instead of one in the hundreds of thousands. What was the point of that interview anyways? I don';t like to use the word but he really is just showing his own stupidity for even being in this situation at his age. Nothing more , nothing less.

48. Hold on. Hold on. I'm trying to find my violin in my miniature collection.Mindboggling how so many celebrities nowdays end up "broke" after making millions all the while spending like there is no tomorrow. Ever hear of investments or putting something away for a rainy day?Sorry Ed, no sympathy here. You've had more than most people will have in their lifetime. You are where you are because of YOUR decisions in life and although they weren't good ones you now must pay the price. At your age it's time to downsize anyway. As they say....ya can't take it with ya.Yeah, times are tough but it's time to say enough is enough.I doubt the bank is thrilled to get another home (mansion) to have to try and unload in our sinking economy. You survived thru the depression and should remember what it was like.

49. LOSER! Ed had millions and pissed them all away and now he's crying. Live big, die broke. He had plenty of warning that his money was running low. He could have sold the big house and bought something he could afford, like the rest of us. No tears from me.

50. The real reason he can't sell is because of that mold problem. Even though he had it taken care of, not many people want to take a chance on a house that once had mold. It's a harder sell. If anything, Brit living near by should be a plus for all those superficial millionaires in Hollywood!

51. Watching Ed last night was surreal,we're supposed to feel sorry for a guy who can't carry his multi million dollar home?
Buy a friggin half million dollar slum house Ed,and cut your trophy wife's check signing privliges,or will she leave you when the well finally runs dry

52. How are Ed and Evander both broke and Lionel Richie still got plenty of money? If I ever thought some millionaire might go broke it was Lionel. If he didn't spend all his money I thought surely his daughet Nicole would have. And talk about nasty divorces.

You go Lionel, smarter than your average Hollywood idiot!!!

53. Mrs. Butters...wife made it clear she is doing her part by shopping the $ bins at Target, and she also made it clear she isn't pleased abt the neck brace, it is affecting their sex life. hahahhahaha..mentioned it a couple of times.

54. Surely there's a good tell-all book lurking somewhere in the mind of Ed.
Oh, the things he knows about Frank, Sammy, Johnny and Jerry.

55. p.s...I don't know what she does with his neck that is hindering her needs, but she felt comfortable enough to share it with millions around the world!..poor Ed.

56. Brit - Brit lives down the street and she makes $700,000 per month. Ed's only $600,000 behind in his mortgage. Maybe he can go borrow a cup of money from her.

Is that all you've got?

58. Sorry, don't feel badly for him one bit. He made millions and millions, and was one of the biggest d&#ks in Hollywood. Too bad, so sad.

59. I'll tell you why he was on national TV crying about his house problems! HE WANTS PEOPLE TO SEND HIM MILLIONS TO GET HIS ASS OUT OF THIS! And I'm with someone earlier, that nasty looking, bad teeth wife of his, has spent it on herself.

60. They took a tour of Eds house last night. Start selling off some of the art work and furniture which I am sure they didn't buy at Value city. My sympathy goes to the people who worked hard but got caught up in a balloon type mortgage and only have a can of soup in their pantry. Or the elderly who can't take medications because of the cost. Welcome to middle America, Ed.
