Eddie Mac: My Income Has Fallen & It Can't Get Up
Yeah, he made millions off of "The Tonight Show," "Star Search," American Family Publishers," "Who Do You Trust," etc., yet Ed McMahon told Larry King last night he's broke as a joke.

91. If you watch the video (and some bloggers have seen the CNN
interview), Ed is the author of his own misfortune.
He admits spending too much ("If you spend more money than you make,
you know what happens.")
He admits to 'a couple divorces thrown in, things like that...'
Broken neck? Can't work?
Buster Keaton's neck was broken while shooting 'The General' - he
kept working.
My husband's uncle was broken while diving - and he continued to work
until he retired 23 years later. He's now 78 years old, puts in a huge
garden every year and does things everyone else does.
My husband was t-boned by an idiot who blew through a red light 2
months ago. The truck rolled 3 times. He sustained 3 broken ribs, a
fractured L2 vertebra, a lacerated liver, bruised kidneys and lungs,
a closed head injury, (not in Post Concussion Syndrome), soft tissue
injuries and torn ligaments in his hands......and we went back to
work 6 weeks later because sitting at home was driving him crazy! He
was on 'light duty' for a week and worked through the pain and
problems. He's in construction so it's not like he's got a
candy-assed job like flapping his gums on TV for a living.
...so with Ed saying he 'can't' work with a broken neck, what he
means is that he doesn't want to work. He doesn't want to help dig
himself out of the hole he voluntarily put himself in.
What about his able-bodied wife, Kim? Maybe she should go to work and
help out.
The bottom line is that people can and do go through some very hard
times, but they do what they can to help themselves get out of the
hole. Sometimes that means cutting your losses, selling your big,
fancy home and buying a smaller one that fits your budget. If your
ego and pride and vanity gets in the way, then your problem is bigger
than just finances.
If Ed can travel to a TV studio and conduct a beg-a-thon on his own
behalf, he can get his agent to find him some voice work. His voice
does work. We listened to him complain and carp. He can still speak
into a microphone and having a broken neck (supposedly) does NOT
preclude him from speaking.
As to HOW he broke his neck? Well now he dodges the question
(probably a drunken fall, or he was doing something he shouldn't have
been doing in the first place, or else he wouldn't mind answering how
it was he came to break his neck).
There's something really fishy here.... is he setting up another
lawsuit to try and gain a huge settlement because of his 'broken'
neck? Some huge settlement that will pay his arrears, allow him to
keep his big home and newest trophy wife?
As one blogger said 'sell your furniture',, clear as much of the debt
load as you can yourself. Sometimes that means lowering your standard
of living, but it beats going on CNN and whining in front of millions
of people.
He has 6 kids - can't they help our their father? Collectively buy
the house and allow him to rent from them?
And to top it off to blame Brit for not being able to sell his house?
BS!! What's next? Sue Brit for a huge about of money so that he can
clear up his debts and pay his arrears?
Ed is (unfortunately) a whiner, a spendthrift and immature. He won't
be living on the streets. I can't see any of his children allowing
their father to live on the street.

93. Just looking for sympathy. The old duffer must have a pile stuffed away somewhere. They have two live in assistants that do everything for them. His wife needs to get off her ass.

95. Yeah--why did his wife bring up the sex life thing? What does it have to do with foreclosure? And how inappropriate to bring it up at all on live TV.
