33. This falls into another one of those "Far left loonie" ideas. The anti-American, anti-establishment...conspiracy-driven far leftliberals have this idea going around that vaccinations are evil. It not only is stupid it's dangerous. Not vaccinating children will lead to future outbreaks of diseases that we have all but eradicated from the planet. He needs to stop this anti-American, anti-establishment behavior and be a responsible parent. Unless he wants his children to contract a deadly disease in the future and become sick. And I don't want MY children getting sick because HE is irresponsible.

34. While there is some speculation that certain vaccines at a young age can lead to things such as Autism, I think the kids are old enough to gettheir shots. Don't they need them for school anyways?

37. Pebbles you cannot get measles from a measles shot. That is not a live vaccine. What your child got was a rash as a reaction to the vaccine. The doctor did not explain it clearly to you. We have not used live measles vaccines since the 60s. I'm thinking California is the root of most false rumors because I have not heard such weird crap in my life than reading the posts on this site. To not vaccinate your children is like inviting all the diseases we have gotten rid of to just come right back. This environmental/organic stuff has gotten way out of control.

41. There is big money in autism. BIG money. That is why it is so over-diagnosed in this country.

An erroneous autism diagnosis also gives parents a means of passing the buck when they are too lazy to properly raise and discipline their children.

"It's not my fault he won't sit down and shut up. He's on the spectrum."

"It's not my fault he won't stop screaming for a candy bar in the grocery store even after I told him no. He's on the spectrum."

If you live in or travel to other countries, even first-world countries where children receive the same vaccinations, you will not see the huge numbers of so-called autistics you do in the US. You'll see stupid kids, and kids who can't be controlled because their parents don't give a damn, but the diagnosis of autism is reserved for kids who are truly autistic.

I remember the good old days when parents actually wanted their kids to be normal, even if normal meant average in their level of competency. Now it seems there is a golden ring that accompanies the autism diagnosis and makes it desirable for parents who want their kids to be "special" even if it means a lifelong stigma of being less than normal.

44. Also, if you have a kid and never play with that kid or coo at that kid or sign to the kid and just dump it in daycare where it is neglected for eight or more hours a day, it will be detached and it may very well appear to have a touch of autism.

Kids give up and shut down when their intense emotional needs are not met by their mothers and fathers. You do not have to be an MD to know this is true.

It's not autism. It's the obvious signs of NEGLECT.

I'm sure the lazy parents will now start screaming at me for this unpopular opinion but they need not bother. I will not care and I do not need to argue with people who neglect their own.

What they SHOULD do is shut off their computers, turn off the TV and GO SPEND TIME WITH THEIR KIDS!

45. I am just wondering WHY NOW is there an issue over shots when they start getting them at a few months old? Both my kids had all their shots - even the added new ones and I am about to have another baby and have not a second thought to having him have his shots! I have a strong Doctor who is from China and knows his medicine and the only thing he didn't promote was giving our kids a flu shot or adults for that matter!

So sorry Charlie - I find this a little drab to be making a stink over now after the fact.
